We booked a day to swim and the pool was a welcome relief to the heat. We were able to order food poolside as well. The property is clean and staff is welcoming.

The pool was not clean and expensive and run down. Staff varied from great to bad. Not value for money at all well over priced for the product.

The staff were lovely. Towels in the rooms were slow to be replaced. No eveing entertainment which was unfortunate but otherwise one of the nicest places to stay in Nuku'alofa..

Car parking was terrible-not enough space and horrible driveway. Tour office was great in particular Belinda was great! She helped us book a whale tour and kept us informed. Staff all friendly, good food. Rooms are a bit dated for the price they charge. Gym needs a clean, and sterilise. Pleasant stay and very handy location to central town. Very easy walk.

Lots of pros staying at Tanoa Nuku’alofa and a handful of cons. Pros: Super convenient location, easy walk to town, restaurants, markets, easy 20 min walk to catch ferry boat to Pangaimotu. Having breakfast (great options) at the hotel was a major plus (especially traveling with 3 children), plus utilized their restaurant for an occasional lunch and dinner. Food was excellent. Room AC worked great. Hot water for showers felt so good (considering hot water is a luxury in Tonga). Wifi worked well for the majority of our stay (4 nights). The service and staff (at restaurant and room turnover service) was excellent! They brought us an extra bed for our family of 5. Appreciated that immensely. In house ATM, and ability to exchange a bit of money at the front desk. Amazing ocean view from our two rooms. Cons: On 2 of our nights, it was really noisy. There was a celebration and live band (which we were made aware of) that played past what we were notified of. The after party were many and loud. I am Tongan and I get that Tongans enjoy life, laugh and have fun (and I love that) but it is frustrating when we’ve had a long day of travel and we cant manage to sleep because of the noise. Tanoa front desk told us that they had done all they could… We also were roomed next to a wedding party that was up at 5:30am one morning getting ready and blasting their music… super inconsiderate. Overall TANOA is a super convenient place to stay but is not a quiet option.

Across the beach and 5 mins to market. Staff are very nice and accommodating. Always has a smile in their face and very efficient if you need or want anything. The ladies at the breakfast are si nice. Gani from front desk help sort out my internet issue and the ladies at the lobby bar/restaurant are so happy to serve us. Tongan hospitality at its best! Room was very clean. Had all we need. Thanks to our room attendant who always made it spotless. Kudos to all the staff at Tanoa International Dateline Hotel. Par excellence!

Nice hotel but, needs housekeeping help.
The hotel is nice, unfortunately, the housekeeping is very poorly run. No pool towels, room not cleaned daily, if at all, trash not removed from room, hard to obtain clean towels and we had to find our own toilet paper two days in a row.

The people are what make Tonga so special. Other than that, do not expect anything amazing. The breakfast buffet is adequate and the staff are what make your breakfast experience memorable. The restaurant is often out of ingredients so your first or second choice for lunch or dinner is often not avaliable. This is common across Tongan hospitality. Two wheelchair accessible rooms where the drainage hasn't been configured very well and the bathroom floors flood during your shower. The tiles when wet are dangerously slippery throughout the room. During the storm our room flooded and necessitated that we change rooms at 1am in the morning. Outdoor furniture is very comfortable and high quality however the atmosphere definitely lacked, very rarely music being played to create the atmosphere. I wish they would pick better times of the day or even night than the middle of the afternoon to drain the sewage tanks by the pool and bar. The smell was unbearable. The house keeping is very slow to clean rooms often in our room upwards of an hour and the room is still not cleaned. The towels are washed rather than replaced daily meaning your room is without towels for up to 6 hours a day. The cups and dishes are not cleaned in the rooms. The housekeeping staff also speak in Tongan in front of you and giggle which I found a bit unprofessional. The gym is hardly functional, never cleaned and equipment scattered often blocking access to other machines.

Great place
I had a great stay here. The staff is great. The food is great. Their internet is a bit of a disaster and really doesn’t work well. I would definitely stay here again. I also like how they have pre set fees for late check out. 80top for a 5pm checkout.
