'The good: My friends & I are from the US and had never been to Amsterdam. My sister (who has lived in the area for 2yrs) suggested a houseboat would be a fun adventure. And she was right! It was more expensive than a hotel, but it had plenty of space for the 3 of us (with room to spare - we could have easily fit 2-3 more people) and it offered a safe, quiet, and comfortable retreat after each day of SO many steps (and sometimes rain).
