West Village Eurohostel

10/10 Voortreffelijk

"This was the first time I stayed in a hostel, and I was concerned about shared bathrooms and the size of the room. It is indeed a VERY small room, a single bed, and enough space to get in and out of it. It has a small TV and that's it. It has the look and the feel of a train or ship cabin, that I found quite cute and charming. Even if very, very small, it was incredibly comfortable! It was serviced upon request, with clean sheets and fluffy towels provided every day. The bathrooms are shared (there is one just for women, one shared per hallway) but these are relatively clean and comfortable, with good water pressure, and nice amenities. There is a larger room at the reception/lobby with an amazing collection of books, a large table and comfy couches, with fresh coffee/tea served every day from 7am. They also have a laundry room (which I didn't use). The hostel is housed in a historical/listed building and shared with a fancier establishment (a restaurant or bar of sorts). The area is excellent, on the corner of the Hudson Park, half a block away from the High Line and the Whitney and a short walk from the subway, right in the West Village, so very safe and quiet, also at night. I found the staff very helpful and friendly, had tips and were always open for a chat. I was very happily surprised by this property, as I think the price/quality ratio is unbeatable. I would stay there again, and highly recommend it!"

"De kamer was echt klein, geen koelkast of iets van complementary water of zo. In NY blijf je niet op je hotelkamer 😉. Ochtend krijg je koffie of thee gratis, ontbijt betaal je wel. Maar de locatie is perfect, alle ‘attracties’ zijn op loopafstand. Ook restaurants en mini supermarkt om de hoek. Als het regent, kan je een regen poncho bij de receptie krijgen."
