'Myself and my wife booked this cottage as I was competing in a mountain bike event nearby. The cottage was perfect for our needs with large modern bright rooms and ample space. The garden looked very well kept with patio doors leading onto it. The parking itself was ideal with a courtyard immediately outside, just make sure you have checked the exact location first as the last 100m or so are on a narrow gravel road which isn't the obvious way if you haven't checked it out first.I would...

'So peaceful! We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed some great mountain biking. Lots of wildlife and very good wild swimming.'

'Park Cottage is set in a lovely location in Cally Woods (so many great walks and cycle opportunities). Also with use of the Cally Palace Hotel facilities including the swimming pool. However the house was unclean, especially the kitchen with unusable pans and not enough cutlery to sit 9 people in one setting. There was black mould on the downstairs bathroom ceiling. Such a shame as the cottage is a great space for families and could be lovely, but when I have fed back about these issues I have...

'We really enjoyed our stay. Particularly the wood burning stove and the general air of spaciousness.'

'Very pleased with the size of the rooms . The lounge had enough seating for all of our party (11) and the large dining table was excellent. The bedrooms were roomy, including a couch as well as beds. The only downside was the 3 bathrooms were some distance away. A toilet at either end would have been more practical. The kitchen was rather small but well equipped.'

'We were looking for a relaxing short break with a few walks. This location was perfect. Drummore was a nice quiet town with a lovely local pub, shop and cafe a few minutes walk away.'

'My friends and I had a wonderful weekend stay at Seabank. The property is homely and cosy (especially once the coal fire is up and running!) and the large kitchen areas made cooking and dining together very straightforward for our group of six. The local pub is less than 10 minutes' walk, although make sure to take a torch if you'll be returning in the dark! I would highly recommend Seabank to anyone looking for a base to explore the nearby walks and sights, or just for a quiet getaway.'

'The house was an ideal setting to see in the new year. The area has lots of interesting walks and cycling routes. The hosts provided plenty communication ahead of the booking and accomodated for our youngest guest (1 year old). The property could benefit from a few more kitchen essentials (bin bags, dish clothes etc), but this a wasn't major issue. All in all, a really nice stay.'

'The cottage was amazing and very well equipped, spotlessly clean and modern but very comfortable, with a very welcome selection of treats waiting for us. We know the area well so it was the perfect location for us to do a bit more discovering of Dumfries and Galloway. Would certainly recommend the cottage and we hope to get there again.'

'We had a wonderful week at Cochmans Cottage. The cottage is much more spacious than the impression given by the photographs. The property was immaculate when we arrived. Evelyn was a really friendly host when we met her but she was not at all intrusive, If you are looking for an away from it all property set in a stunning location this property is bad to beat.'
