Room was clean, staff was nice. So many issues with the two room penthouse suite they shoved all 3 of us into the one bedroom penthouse. Like last time water pressure was awful, no hot water but if it did get hot, then there was no cold. So showers were either cold or scalding hot. Last time our shower curtain rod hole and fell apart and when we tried to put I back on it was so cheap and light weight it just ended up bending again. Great location in beach however not sure if that is worth the room issues.

First, the overall condition and maintenance of the building has noticeably declined. The property looks worn down and there was a persistent urine odor in several areas, which made the environment very unpleasant. Additionally, we were charged an extra fee for an additional guest, yet basic amenities were not provided accordingly. We did not receive extra towels, shampoo, or soap, which should be standard when additional guests are registered. The check-in process was also extremely frustrating. Even though we had already paid for our stay from Thursday through Monday, we arrived around 7:00 PM and were still made to wait for a room. After traveling, this was unacceptable and poorly managed. Another major disappointment was the false advertising regarding the brunch that is promoted by the hotel. The experience did not match what was advertised. Furthermore, the beach chairs and umbrellas are very old, worn, and out of place with what should be a quality beachfront property. The only highlight of our stay was the excellent service from your beach staff. Paulino and Miguel were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and truly the best part.

The internet didn’t work at all. The loungers on the beach are reserved for people who order drinks and food from the restaurant which isn’t mentioned when booking even though no one was sitting in the first 4 rows in the morning still reserved.

The Blue Chairs has an outstanding staff, they were friendly, helpful and always there to make your stay that much more comfortable. On 22 Feb 2026, we got stuck in Mexico for an extra week. The Blue Chairs manager told us that they would take care of us, and that is what they did. They kept us safe and allowed us to extend our stay at a reasonable cost. Thank you, Blue Chairs. We will be booking our stay with you again for 2027.

While staff were very friendly and helpful, the property has seen better days. The issues were not overwhelming but annoying. On two days, there was no water coming out of the hot water tap for the shower. Even when the hot water came back on, one had to let the water run for some time before it became hot enough. Equally problematic was the fact, you could not adjust the water to a comfortable temperature, it was either hot or cold. The handle to the balcony door kept coming off in my hand so I had to reattach it. Although WI-FI was advertised as being available, it was quite spotty in my room; the only reliable access point was in the lobby. The elevator wasn't working for a period of time. At the restuarant across the street, the waiter did not want to split a bill between myself and a friend who was also staying at Blue Chairs. I found this a bit much since the establishment clearly had up to date billing equipment. We stood our ground and somehow, our bill could be split in two. As mentioned earlier, the staff did their best and whenever a problem was brought their attention, they did their best to resolve. In any case, I won't be returning to this lodging. Many thanks.

I have stayed at blue chairs for 9 years in a row. Because of the experience I had with Mario, the suupposivily manager, I will never stay there again. This location was always the choice for my annual vacation based on location. Yes the hotel is older, so I’ve come to accept it. With this trip, I was alone this year, wasn’t comfortable with maid service, so I used the do not disturb for 8 days. First night the AC unit was dripping, so with acceptance, I just put a towel down and also a towel to whip my feet off from the balcony. This is apparently where Mario informed me that I should wash my feet better every night before getting into the bed. So apparently, at check out, where I’ve never had issues, the young lady asked me to hold on please. Then came back and said I needed to pay a fee for extra washing. I explained about the balcony being dirty and the dropping AC unit. She called her manager over, Mario. He said they have to charge me as they need to do extra washing. I told him this was not my fault as the balcony is cover with dirt/sand and pigeon droppings. I had to whip my feet every time I went out and in then even to shower clean them. He said I should have washed them better. I said are you serious and also it’s a beach town, cobblestone, and flip flops. I said I’ve never been treated like this in 9 years, he walked away and said you’ll come back! Actually I won’t be coming back and I’ll be taking this as far as I can. NEVER AGAIN BECAUSE OF MARIO!

Rooftop staff were amazing and entertainment was fun. The beach club was well serviced. We had no beach view, although Expedia indicates we should have had one. Swimming pools were empty so no "vibe" at the hotel. The cleaning of our room was not so good...washrooms had dirt or mold, especially the shower doors.

The hotel requires major renovations but can't beat the beachfront location. They play loud music until late so highly recommend taking noise-cancelling plugs for quality sleep. Hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating to individual needs, however, we had to stay in a different room than what we paid for and the front desk did not mention this during checkout assuming that we are completely blind to finding out we were being setup in a much smaller and nominal room than what we paid for. We had to spend 2 nights outside our Master Suite which didn't have air conditioning. When asked for refund or credit/adjustment since we didn't have our room ready for 2 nights, the staff denied all responsibility. Not sure if we would book this again as this experience left a very sour taste.

This was our second stay at Blue Chairs Hotel and I must say a much better visit then last year Check in was smooth and friendly. Our room was exactly what we reserved. All the amenities were working. All the pools were clean and maintained. The best part of our stay was the food at tbe restaurant and bar... and the staff, they treated us well and were always friendly even during the Cartel events. We will definitely be back again !

I was staying 19 days,when i got to my room,no refrigerator, no safe, no phone . Opened the curtain i looked directly at a wall . I complained, the next day they showed me a room on the 2nd floor . It had a glimpse of the ocean, it looked into the place next door living room . I wanted to swim in the pool.noway disgusting. After 9 days they finally cleaned it...11 times i had to go to the hotel desk,because the door card wouldn't open the door..it cost me 375.00 to change rooms .with still no phone ,fridge,or sasasafe.

The advertisement didn’t say it was a gay men’s Hotel. The room was bare minimum. There was extremely loud music playing all day and evening. The staff however was very nice.

The room was clean and the staff were wonderful. There were multiple issues with the condition of the room. The sink drainage system was broken, and when we used the sink water got all over the floor, the lock on the door to the balcony was broken, and we could not secure our room, the handle on the sink faucet broke while we were there. There were dishes to use in the kitchen, but there was no paper towels or even a dry towel to dry them on. They were timely about fixing the leaking sink and about fixing the lock on the balcony door.

Right on beach was awesome. i upgraded my room to jr suite to have view. Room had a small fridge. those were the only pluses. Room is dated and poor maintenance. Toilet wouldnt flush unless u held down button and flush three times. hard to regulate water temp in shower. everything needs a good scrub and clean off the over sprayed paint

The hotel is somewhat dated and could benefit from some repairs and updates. I would recommend reading the reviews beforehand and setting expectations accordingly. That said, it wasn’t as bad as some of the more negative reviews suggest — but with so many newer options available now, I would likely consider other properties on a future visit. The staff were friendly, helpful, and overall very pleasant throughout my stay. The beach area is fantastic, and Luis (1) in particular was a highlight — exceptional service and a warm presence. Security, however, was a concern for me. The property feels very open, and it seemed that anyone could walk in without much screening. While some travelers may appreciate the relaxed atmosphere compared to more restrictive hotels, I personally found it uncomfortable. What I found most disappointing was the presence of massage solicitations and drug dealers near the hotel entrance. This created an uneasy environment and ultimately is the primary reason I would hesitate to stay here again. Overall, not a terrible experience, but likely not my first choice next time given the alternatives available.
