'South Shire is a beautiful place filled with history and character. The staff were wonderful; kind and attentive. They were welcoming to us and our pup throughout the stay. We were very happy with the quality of the mattress and linens as well as the ac being nice and cold on a very hot day (not always things you find in an older bed and breakfast.) We would absolutely stay here again. '

'This is a lovely Inn that is as charming as its setting. An unexpected pleasure was the delicious food. I loved that you pick your breakfast time and food choice the day before. My only regret was not staying long enough to have each of the breakfast offerings. An added delight was dinner at the Inn. Definitely a 5 star experience. We ate there two nights - each meal choice was superb. Service matched the taste. An overall delightful experience, well worth the cost. I'm still dreaming about...

'What a nice, vintage place - yet very clean and not shabby at all! I enjoyed sitting on the porch. A breakfast place is nearby. I thought being so old, there would be thin walls, but it was so quiet! The bed was comfy and the shower was so great, I took a picture of the shower head to get for home. I would definitely stay here again if in this part of Vermont. '

'We arrived after 7 pm and it turned out had reserved the room for Wednesday night instead of Monday night. A person associated with the restaurant which was closed on Monday, helped us. He called in to the staff and checked us into a room. Everything went so smoothly and it could have been last minute looking for a different motel.

'Wij vonden de kamer niet echt schoon, de koffiezetapparaat was niet schoon vanbinnen. De badkamer viel best mee. De lakens zagen er op het eerste gezicht wel schoon uit. Maar de sprei en deken was niet schoon en er zaten ronde gaatjes in de deken.

'This is an old-fashioned motel with some limitations — no elevator, small bathrooms, etc. But it is the cleanest place I have ever stayed, has been updated over time, has comfortable beds, offers a good breakfast, and enjoys a nice location next to a stream with outdoor seating. The only real drawback to our stay was an overly noisy air conditioner.'

Personnel was a little pushy to write a review, but this good review is well deserved. They provided also multiple free bottles of water and after my hike they allowed me to still use their restroom even though I already checked out. Multiple nice hikes and views in the environment!'

"Het hotel ligt in een prachtig en verlaten gebied. Dichtsbijzijnde restaurant is met de auto 15 min. Gastvrijheid en de verzorging zijn fantastisch. Kamer en badkamer waren op de 1e etage en zeer schoon. Ivm voorbereidingen voor een bruiloft was de bar dicht. Het ontbijt was super.
