"Avoid - scam. I often use Expedia and have always been very satisfied with the services. However, today I encountered a serious problem at Hilton Cabo Verde (Sal – Cape Verde). Although I paid the full room price in advance through the platform (excluding taxes, which were to be paid locally), I was forced to pay the full amount again at a higher room rate upon check-out. They claimed they had received no payment from Expedia. I refused to pay, but my taxi was physically stopped until I paid, and they threatened to involve the police. That’s not a situation I wanted to be in while in Africa, especially just two hours before my flight. I was therefore forced to pay a second time, at a higher rate. I have all proof of booking with and the double payment to the hotel. A hotel like this doesn’t belong on this platform."

"Nette accommodatie, mooie kamers en receptieruimte. Informatieverstrekking kan echt beter. Bv. onduidelijkheid over bandjes, Level. Level lounge was dicht. Medewerkers zijn service verlenend maar tonen geen betrokkenheid bij de gasten. Bv. bij in-en uitchecken. "
