'Great little hotel in Onomichi with a superb view - particularly sunset and sunrise. Tip: cab it from the station. (I walked up many, many, many steep steps to get there. Learn from my mistake!)'

'When is a resort not a resort? In this case, when it doesn't provide any facilities outside the room. There's a rooftop bar in summer but nothing at other times. Staff were pleasant but breakfast was limited and when we asked for a second cup of coffee we had to pay for it. The room is large but was taken up by 4 double futons and a massive hanging screen for projecting TV/video. We felt it was intended for a large group who wanted to watch DVDs all day. The cost would have been fine split 8...

'The room was wonderful and clean. But the pillows were very thin. You need to get softer, thicker pillows. Everything else was great. We will stay there again if we are ever back that way. '
