'This is not a luxury house. Cheap second hand uncomfortable furniture, a smelly oven that may not have been cleaned for years (if ever???) and crockery that we needed to wash before we used it. We are not fussy people, but clean and comfortable should be a bare minimum.... Worst of all though was a chirping smoke alarm on the first floor landing, indicating a dead battery. On closer inspection, there wasn't even a battery fitted!! I offered to replace it if the owner couldn't arrange it for...

'The kitchen was well equipped, with comfy beds and a great view from the hot tub. The location is very close to the Brontë home and steam railway, so we had some nice trips out and the animals on the farm were fun neighbours.'
