132A Relaxed Luxury at Casa de Flora in St Augustine

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS A NON SMOKING PROPERTY. NO BEACH SUPPLIES PROVIDED. Audio/video monitoring is recorded outside all units, the parking area and at entry doors. The laundry room is monitored as well.

Built in 1927 this house has been in our family since 1974. It has 3 apartments. Apartment A (this listing) and B are on the ground floor. Apartment C is located upstairs. All are available for rent. There may be guests present in the other units during your stay. Please observe quiet time from 10pm-8am keeping TV, music, regular noise and conversations at a low volume that does not disturb other guests. There are no steps to enter this apartment. It is located within walking distance to most attractions. It's about 1/2 mile away from Castillo de San Marcos (the fort), 3 blocks away from Fountain of Youth, across the street from Pelican Landing Bar/Restaurant and Old Town Liquor. You're only minutes away from restaurants, shopping, entertainment and churches. It is a pedestrian friendly area but please use designated crosswalks.

-The apartment has heart of pine floors, loads of period trim work and 9' ceilings. It offers a living room, bedroom , kitchen, bathroom and sunroom. There is a covered front porch with 2 adirondack chairs that may be used by units A & B

- The living room has comfortable seating with a love seat, chair, cozy pillows and throws. There is a 52” Roku TV and Blu-ray player. Apps that are loaded and ready to use include Netflix, Prime Video, Sling, Starz, Britbox, Disney+, Hulu and others. The credenza is stocked with a selection of movies for use during your stay. Books, LPs, DVDs and CDs are here for your enjoyment.

- The sunroom bathes you in light and brings the outdoors inside. It’s filled with beautiful original art by local artists depicting scenes of St Augustine. There is a table with 2 chairs for dining and a garden bench with lots of cushions for spending a cozy afternoon reading, relaxing or just enjoying some solitude. The many windows with shutters, beautiful arched trim work, bead board ceiling and crystal chandelier all create an environment that makes you happy inside and smiling outside 😊. Pop in a favorite CD and feel your blood pressure drop as your body relaxes into vacation mode.

-If you plan on going to the beach you'll need to provide your own beach supplies. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE ANY ITEM FROM THE COTTAGE INCLUDING TOWELS.

-The bedroom has a queen size four poster bed with a Tempur-Pedic mattress (so comfy) and a wardrobe with robes, hooks, shelves and hangers for personal storage. The bedside tables include a radio/CD/alarm clock and a hand held remote (no fumbling for the lamp switch) for controlling bedside lamps. There are USB charging ports in the outlet strip inside the wardrobe. A curtain is present to close for sleeping.

-The kitchen is equipped to prepare a meal or reheat take out food. Included is a full size stove, a microwave, refrigerator, garbage disposal and dishwasher. . Dinnerware, flatware, cooking utensils and lots of cocktail and wine glasses are also provided . It has a coffee bar with a Keurig Coffee Maker (with k-cups) and a coffee pot if you prefer making it by the pot. There is a selection of tea for the tea lovers and an electric kettle located in the pantry. A step ladder is kept by the refrigerator for accessing the higher shelves. Two TV tray tables are located by the refrigerator.

-The bathroom has a walk-in shower with on demand hot water. Give it a bit to warm up then enjoy!. We provide a hair dryer, makeup mirror, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, fluffy towels and a first aid kit in the bathroom.

-Palmetto bugs are large bugs that look like roaches but have wings and can fly in through open doorways. They are a HUGE problem in Florida especially after heavy rains. We have monthly pest control service but these particular bugs often still find a way to get in. Hopefully, if you see one he is either dead or dying. Don’t be alarmed - they don’t bite or sting. I usually grab a paper towel and pick them up and toss them in the garbage can. If you see more than one or two please let me know and I’ll give the exterminator a call.
