Not only was it clean and comfortable, but it was absolutely beautiful and the effort and care the owners Erin and Josh put into the every detail was evident. 'The House of 1833 is a beautiful old home with an amazing collection of antiques. It is surrounded by old English style gardens. In late September we were a bit too early for fall colors. The owner is delightful and helpful and the food was wonderful! '

'Wij hadden de kleinste kamer geboekt tegen een hele scherpe prijs. Het bed was uiterst comfortabel. Geen koelkast of waterkoker, maar roomservice bracht gratis ijs om de drankjes te koelen. Erg mooie faciliteiten, zoals een verwarmd buitenzwembad. Prettig dat er ook badjassen op de kamer hingen, zodat je echt als 'spa-gast' door de accommodatie kon lopen. '

'Heel gezellig hotel met een warm en persoonlijk onthaal. Je voelt je meteen welkom bij de familie die dit hotel runt. Het ligt ook op wandelafstand van bezienswaardigheden en restaurants, al ligt het wel aan een relatief drukke weg en loopt achter het domein een spoorweg (waar niet zo veel treinen langs komen trouwens). Het bubbelbad in de badkamer is echt wel een plus, hoewel misschien wat luid gezien ze al ietwat verouderd zijn. Het ontbijt bestond uit een muffin, koffie en fruit. Naar...

'It’s a beautiful inn and location! Our room on the third floor had windows on three sides - views of the river and marina as well as views of Long Island sound. The staff was friendly and helpful! They had some cheese and crackers available in the afternoon, fresh cookies at 7pm (perfect little snack after returning from dinner), not to mention a nice breakfast. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away and enjoy some r&r.'
