Houtkachel in de woonkamer (eerste brandstof inbegrepen). Centrale verwarming op olie inbegrepen (£ 25per week 1 oktober-30 april april). Elektriciteit, beddengoed en handdoeken inbegrepen. Genietend van een weids uitzicht op het platteland, dit gastvrije halfvrijstaande vakantiehuis, grenzend aan de boerderij van de eigenaren, maar met een eigen tuin, ligt binnen handbereik van een grote verscheidenheid aan bezoekersattracties aan de rand van het Peak District National Park. Hollins Lane is gemakkelijk bereikbaar vanuit het huisje, perfect om te wandelen met je vrienden met een harige poot. De prachtige Churnet-vallei, met stoomtreinen, natuurreservaten en prachtige wandelingen, is 2 mijl. Binnen 10 mijl zijn Alton Towers, Splash Landings, Waterworld, Trentham Gardens, Monkey Forest en aardewerkmusea; ook fietsverhuur voor de Manifold Trail en Dovedale. Er zijn vier NT-eigenschappen binnen 20 mijl, en Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock en Castleton zijn allemaal gemakkelijk te bereiken. Golf en vissen 2 mijl. Winkels en pubs 2 mijl.

    Maximaal één hond, niet toegestaan boven. De eerste aanvoer van houtblokken voor de houtkachel is inbegrepen, de rest is lokaal beschikbaar tegen kostprijs. Extra kosten-Winter brandstoffen supplement tussen 1 oktober en 31 april van £ 25 per week. Deze woning is gelegen op een werkende boerderij, daarom moeten huisdieren aan de lijn worden gehouden en moeten kinderen te allen tijde onder toezicht staan.

The Cottage was perfect for our family needs.

The Cottage was perfect for our family needs. Spacious kitchen with all the appliances, generous sized bathroom, living space and bedrooms. The owners ensured it was nicely decorated for Christmas and we received a warm welcome with homemade Christmas themed fairy cakes and a bottle of fizz. The log fire gave the living room a homely touch and the games room provided extra space and entertainment.

The 6 walks we completed were between 5/6 miles long starting from the cottage itself and to no more than 8 miles away. Bedrooms for adults and children are a good size and 2 have plenty of storage space, the beds were all comfortable. The games room was well used and the sitting room relaxing.

We had a lovely week in Tomfield Cottage with our daughter, son-in-law and 4 year old granddaughter.

We had a lovely week in Tomfield Cottage with our daughter, son-in-law and 4 year old granddaughter. The cottage was very well equipped and had lots of space for us all, including our little dog, Milly. My only worry was although it was an enclosed garden, it was not secure. This meant that Milly, had she wanted to, could easily get under the gates which led directly onto a main road. We found some lovely places to walk Milly although nothing within walking distance. Alton Towers was just a 15 minute drive away which, for our daughter and her family was brilliant. Would highly recommend a trip to Trentham Gardens, great for the whole family, including the dog!

Spacious, clean and well equipped cottage with a warm welcome from the owners.

Spacious, clean and well equipped cottage with a warm welcome from the owners. The cottage is traditional but has all the mod cons, excellent wifi and shower and comfortable beds. The owners live next door however it is private, not overlooked at all and has its own drive and garden. We took our 2 year old who had plenty of space to run around inside and outside, and there were toys and books in the games room for her. The owner even brought some friendly cattle into the adjacent field for little one to say hello to, she loves animals and was very happy. There is plenty to do within 30 minutes drive, including alton towers/cbeebies land, monkey forest, fenton fun factory for little one, and the shopping centre in Stoke is brilliant. There is a small petrol station 30 seconds up the road, plenty of places to eat 10 minutes drive away and places that deliver takeaways. We are quite fussy about where we stay, and have to say this one tops the list of places we would like to come back to.

Lovely comfortable cottage- plenty of space for 8 of us (two families of 4). Four teenagers kept happy with the pool room and wi-fi. So clean and the owners made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back one day.

The images on the website do not do this cottage justice; in real life, it’s adorable! From the log fire, to the quaint kitchen, the cattle outside to the games room, the whole package surpassed expectation. It was well equipped and has the most comfortable beds. Everyone slept well. We were in Staffordshire to visit Alton Towers and the location was perfect for this. We also visited the Monkey Forest at Trentham and ventured into the Peak District nearby. There were no negatives to our stay but we would have liked a vacuum cleaner and a tumble dryer to further enhance our experience. Neither are deal breakers- just a wish list! If we were ever in the area again, we would be sure to return.

A larger property than expected with two large doubles and the two ‘singles’ are ample when set

A larger property than expected with two large doubles and the two ‘singles’ are ample when set up as twins. The owners live next door and were very helpful whilst not intrusive. The house is comfortable and well equipped. The decor is clean but not particularly modern in style. The stair gates, cot and high chair are all of a good standard.
