Super locatie
De locatie is super. Zeker voor trip over de Tarcoles rivier. Veel vogels gezien en krokodillen. Maar het pand is toe aan een grote opknapbeurt Wifi slecht.

Bad hotel!
The reason we picked Carara hotel was, that is was right near the beach! That was about the only positive thing... The hotel was filthy, the shower didn't work properly, the towels were smelly, the airco worked for 50%. We sat down in the lobby for a few minutes, everything was filthy or broken, nobody was interested in making this hotel into something... not even the staff...

Herzliches und freundliches Personal, sehr gute Küche! Direkte Strandlage, leider keine Liegen und Schirme vorhanden. Zahlreiche wunderschöne rote Aras und Vögel kann man im Garten beobachten. Renovierungsbedarf des Hauses vorhanden.

This hotel is very dated and could really use a make over however the staff and the food more than makes up for whatever the space doesn't have. I was a little afraid at first but 2 days in i was already planning my next stay.

Excellent séjour.
L'hotel est agréable, la chambre correcte. Le personnel est super sympathique. Possibilité de manger sur place à un prix très raisonnable. Le cadre est magnifique. Plage à côté de l'hôtel. A voir les coucher de soleil.

El lugar es totalmente mal, es muy viejo la piscina sucias las habitaciones muy inseguras tiene la entrada es muy fea recomiendo que hacer remodelaciones tambien, tambien huele las habitaciones, un lugar que no recomiendo!!

La verdad es que no puedo creer que este" Hotel" este dentro de su catalogo de posibilidades de hospedaje por un momento crei que ustedes visitan los hoteles y verifican sus condiciones.De este viaje aprendi mucho como no confiar en EXPEDIA ya que por sus fotos se veia bien pero al llegar ver que esas fotos fueron de cuando lo inauguraron en los 90' .Como ustedes indican yo me comunique antes de ir y el contacto es casi nulo ya estando ahi me cobraron 13 por ciento demas cuando segûn entiendo sus tarifas son finales , el lugar falta de amor en todo sentido infraestructura ,personal y gerencial en esta parte muy mal ya que cuando le dije que era el de expedia como que no le gusto que viniera de esa agencia .Protocolos covid 0 en el restaurante la camarera sin mascarilla mas bien me senti con mi familia como raros ya que solo nosotros la llevamos puesta al punto que no logramos terminar la estancia .Ruido hasta altas horas de la noche parecia como estar de Vacaciones en un bar , las habitaciones deterioradas al punto de tener que conectar el tv(de los de cajon 1990) al cable y electricidad Yo mismo sin control remoto y los jardines que salen en las fotos son unas selvas nada que ver con la imagen un trillo con piedras para llegar a la playa que la verdad es horrible.No tenia ni jabon de manos en tiempo de covid solo un jabon de pastilla nada antibacterial sin paño para secarse las manos ,ni paño para pies.Y no dan factura de ningun tipo.

Mejor no reserves por Hoteles.com, no les gusta
Al llegar nos iban a dar una habitación mas barata que la que pagamos, tampoco les gusta las reservas por Hoteles.com, desde antes de reservar por la aplicación me decían que ellos no la usaban. Finalmente nos dieron la habitación que habíamos reservado, la limpieza no era bueno y durante las 2 noches que estuvimos no limpiaron más. Llamamos 2 veces para pedir que limpiaran y no llegaron, además el sanitario estaba malo y tampoco lo repararon. El desayuno de mala calidad y la piscina preferimos no usarla porque el agua estaba turbia. Lo mejor fue el Restaurante Las Lapas al lado del hotel, la señora un 10.

For the price they charged (nearly 110 US dollars per night), the hotel was poorly lit, the room was in a poor shape (bathroom in particular with mold on the ceiling, a gaping drainage hole from the shower stall, dirty shower stall), and the hotel grounds were poorly kept. It was far away from any decent restaurant. The only good thing going for it is closeness to the crocodile bridge in Tarcoles.

Great value for the money. Right on the beach with a nice pool and restaurant/bar. Macaws flying overhead and the iguana perched on a porch light help with the ambience.

It’s old time Costa Rica right off the highway and right on the beach with a great pool to keep cool... nice breakfast, the staff is always cheerful... close enough to a Jaco without the craziness and plenty of great ceviche and seafood in the vicinity...

You get what you pay for.
Careful about using the pics to define the stay. My room was tiny, and very basic. Was okay for a single night; I wouldn't have stayed with my family however. Area is reasonable, but is essentially in the local village. The beach is behind the property, but is nothing special. There is a hammock for use as well, and the pool looked fine (I didn't swim) as did the open air restaurant (I didn't eat there, but rather just down the coast). With documented concerns for vehicle break-ins at the nearby crocodile bridge and national park parking lot, you do have to wonder about safety (although the vehicle lot does have a gate, yet I never saw it closed). Close to tourist options such as crocodile tours, the national park, and you can travel south for 5-10 minutes to get a nice meal (or experience what Jacobhas to offer). Beautiful Macaws in the area made the experience worthwhile in my case, however there's a reason the price was so inexpensive. You get what you pay for.

Good evening, We appreciate your comment !, we will be taking into account because for us your opinion is very important and maybe we consider closing it, naaa there are many more people who like our hotel and enjoy with us maybe not with many luxuries but in a nice family enviroment. Do yourself a favor and pay more next time and maybe you get what you want

In & out.
Nice Beach Front Hotel. With Breakfast,and Wi-Fi. We had a basic room. No Fridge, no closet. We got what we paid for. A bed, a bath, AC & TV. stayed the night and left in the morning. No complaints.

The cook was off the hook!!! She came out of the kitchen and discribed each dish, answered questions...and then delivered our dishes prepared to perfection. Honestly, the hotel is tired... it's once glory shows but lacks it's once glorious luster. But the kitchen ( if they can hold on to this cook ) makes up for everything.

Liked the pool and the proximity to the beach. Girl at reception went out of her way to help us organize a tour. Arrived early and were able to store our luggage and use the pool. Didn't like - only one bath towel and one small towel for 2 people. No place to hang any clothes. Slow service in the restaurant and mediocre food.

We sorry to hear about our sheets always we had recepcion Open for these issues also you pay $60 for 4 people we do had better Rooms in our humble hotel is no a boutique or hilton hotel but we do our best !we do had a better rooms to accomated when people are no happy for what they paid for!

La atencion muy buena sin embargo por un error de ellos nos cambiaron la reservacion a ultima hora y nos metieron en una villa cuando era 2 las solicitadas y las mismas estan un poco descuidadas y no son muy comodas por el precio que se paga... Lo que si es que el servicio y la atencion fue muy buena hasta nos dieron un tiempo de alimentacion gratis por el error lo cual equilibro el error con las reservaciones en general el hotel esta bonito solo que deberian mejorar las habitaciones o villas seria mejor para los clientes.
