'We came there and the first thing you noticed was a charming cottage and then you see the incredible view. It was so peacefull and quiet, you just start relaxing the minute you stop. The cottage's interiour was in a typical English style so you could really get into the atmosphere, which I loved. It was well maintained, with more than enough room and everything you need in the kitchen like a fridge and freezer. The beds where very comfortable. The town itself is charming and in the pub you can...

'Charming house in an ideal location just across from the Byes and a short walk into Sidmouth. Parking can be a little tricky, but the owners had provided a folder containing lots of useful information, including alternative parking.'

'What a lovely cottage. We arrived a bit later than expected but Paul and Jill were still waiting for us. A real warm welcome. The cottage is beautiful. Very clean and with everything you need. There was even some coffee, tea and biscuits. The beds and rain shower are really nice. The location of the cottage is perfect to visit Weston-super-mare. Or bath. It lies on a hill so the view is really nice. The old Inn in Hutton is a nice place to eat. We can recommend this cottage and its host!! '

'We were celebrating my wife’s 70th birthday, and wanted comfortable and special accommodation for family members and friends. We also wanted to be able to enjoy a grand meal together for up to 14 of us. Compton House was perfect for us - a very unusual and lovely property. Our host was very responsive and very helpful in every way. Thank you so much Patricia, we really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful house.'

'We were 11 adults and 3 kids. We had a wonderful time. The property is a little bit tired in parts but that in no way detracted from the overall experience. Jason is an excellent host. We will be back!'

If I was pushed to have a slight negative comment it would be that there were no instruction booklets for the kitchen appliances. '

'Het is een schattig huisje, wel afgelegen maar heerlijk rustig. Pubs in de buurt om te eten en kwartiertje naar grotere supermarkt. Leuke plekken in te bezoeken in de buurt en prachtige wandel paden. Wij hadden geluk met het weer een ook het buiten bij het huisje is aangenaam en groot, fijn om te zitten. Eigenaren wonen ernaast maar je zit geheel vrij, overigens erg aardige eigenaren :)'

'Terrible property - due to stay here for 5 nights but posed such a health risk that we left immediately and checked in elsewhere at great expense. Sacks of rubbish left, outdoor dining area unusable, dangerous shower, bedroom fans covered in thick dust and mould. Is not as described - is a mid terraced property, not semi-detached as the pictures suggest. Neighbours garden full of trade waste and arguing with each other so would have been unpleasant to sit outside. Undesirable area. Do not stay...

'We really enjoyed our short stay at the Carthouse. It's a lovely property in Axbridge, with Cheddar Gorge within easy reach. Communication with Val was excellent and also waited on the side of the road to show us the entrance to the side road. The Carthouse was spotlessly clean and Val had left several thoughtful items to get us started including bread, milk, wine and cider! Thank you Val, it was much appreciated. We'd have no hesitation in recommending this lovely property.'

'We wanted to have a short family break and this property was ideal. Close to pubs, coffee shops and the castle, we could not have done better. The property has everything you need and full of charm. '

'We had a good time in Nether Stowey, although the cottage was a little bit smaller than we thought (we think that below there is not enough space for 5). The 2nd floor was great, with our own bath room, but our adult children, who slept on the 1st floor, had some sleeping problems with the springs in the matrasses. But in the end we enjoyed our 2 weeks '
