'The Shipyard Angra was an amazing place to stay and explore the island of Terceira from. There is a spacious garage underneath the hotel where we parked our rental car. The room was amazing, they upgraded us from a studio to an apartment, so nice! Spacious, with sitting area, a kitchen and a separate bedroom with a comfortable bed and automatic curtains. There were robes in the bathroom and rituals soap. The staff was very nice and helped us arrange a whale watching tour. Breakfast was delicious...

The setting was intimate, with only 18 rooms, with coffee on tap every morning and hot breakfasts cooked to order. The 7.30am start also meant I was fully fed and watered before heading off on a tour, hike, boat trip, etc. My room opened up to the pool area, so I was able to benefit from that either side of the breakfast while letting the coffee kick...
