'Clean and spacious rooms'

'Lovely lovely stay! Eveything has been really thought out and comfy bed wifi assces to kitchen facillities so perfect for budgeting an over night stay and being able to take food with you rather than buying food in or staying at a hotel where they charge extra prices for somwthing like a pot noodle! Was so hand having somewhere to be able make food for our toddler as she can get unpredicatable as to when she hungry 10/10'

'We stayed for the second time this year in this hotel. Good situated near the A1 (as we were travalling by car). The rooms are comfortable and spacious (although we had a standard room). The staff is very very friendly and responds quickly to questions.'

And they made a fuss about me not wanting to eat in the special 'dog-area' because it felt like being put away... and too hot. i wanted outside but there they didn't serve... finally it was okay but i had to stand my ground and that was not so nice after a very long day's walk... beautiful sitting area outside though!'

'Set in the grounds of a golf course, the room, part of the Courtyard area, was exceptional. Set on 3 levels, the bedroom was on the top level with wall mounted TV, then a seating area below that and a second TV, and the bathroom below that. The only negative for us was the heavy quilt, which was too hot, and the soft pillows, offering little support. Breakfast was excellent. It was ordered from the menu. However, a buffet offering fresh fruit, pastries and cereal would be a useful addition....

'The property is an 18th century coach house so don’t expect brand new anything, that being said the place is full of character, but the most important part of this inn are the excellent staff, mostly Maureen (Mo) and Gracie. They were superbly professional yet warm and welcoming and made our 2 day stay a pleasure. The food was excellent (well done Becca) with a great choice. The room was spotless and clean as was the bathroom, would definitely go back and probably will. Well done all.'

'Matfen Hall really is outstanding, my stay was faultless. All staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful- I was greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and my bags were taken up to my room whilst I checked in and relaxed in the Great Hall. Every nook and cranny of this hotel is gorgeous, beautifully crafted and fabulously furnished, including the room I was allocated. It was a generous size bedroom and dressing area with a huge bathroom, stunning views and light and airy in the daytime but warm...
