Great place to relax with your pet
Really loved the fact we were able to bring our puppy. We loved the walks on the property and it was a great way to spend the holidays together. Apartment had some concerns with some cleanliness but nothing major.

Relaxing Weekend Away
Our weekend stay at this condo in Calafia was just what we needed to refresh and renew! The home is well appointed and decorated nicely. The views out to the ocean and sunset were beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. The community is safe and secure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Views even better than photos!
Photos cannot do justice to the glorious views! You not only see the 180-degree ocean view, you hear it, feel it, and smell it! Bob's home offers more than just a view. The furnishings are attractive and comfortable. The complex is quiet and secure. One surprising and delightful sight was a female boar grazing on the lush grounds. She even wandered down to the beach and foraged there. :) Although we would have been content staying at the condo, we decided to venture out and drive to Puerto Nuevo, where we enjoyed a fabulous dinner at La Casa de la Langosta. Our meal was outstanding, and the staff there were exceptionally hospitable. During our stay, we joined a friend, who lives in the area, at her favorite Italian restaurant in Rosarito, Betucinni's. We also ordered take-out from her favorite Mexican eatery, El Zarape de Rosarito. I recommend both of them. The 90-minute drive to the condo, from our home in Carlsbad, CA, was easy and enjoyable. The toll roads are well maintained and scenic. The return trip went smoothly until we arrived in Tijuana, a few blocks from the border, where we were involved in a collision. All four passengers in our car believe the collision was deliberate on the part of the other (local) driver. Make sure you purchase Mexican automobile insurance and review whom to call and what to do in the event of an accident. We were unsuccessful reaching a representative during our three-hour debacle; however, had we neglected to purchase Mexican insurance, the situation could have been much worse. Be cautious and prepared and stay calm. Enjoy your trip. Bob's vacation home is the place to stay.

Karen, I'm so glad to hear that your stay met or exceeded your expectations. It's through reviews both positive and negative that I try to improve peoples experiences. Thank you for your recommendations on restaurants I too like the Italian restaurant. I am so sorry to her of your experience leaving through TJ. I have never experience an accident but I buy the annual mexican liability insurance from Bernies in Rosarito, it covers my license and any car I drive, For my wife and I we pay 110$ a year for that price it also comes with free legal representation. Hope I never need it but its a small price to pay for piece of mind. We look forward forward to your return. Thanks Bob

The condo itself was nice, the views were good, however when entering there is a mold in the ceiling that needs repair, There were no bath linens for party of 4 adults for our stay of 2 nites, 3 days, we thought we were going to use the kitchen more thankful we did one meal for the pots needed to be thrown out and the silverware was sparse as well as drinking glasses only 2. I had emailed the owner a month out regarding the pool and jacuzzi if they were heated, his reply was pool not and the jacuzzi obviously. Well, obviously not!! For it was less than Luke warm, more like cold for a jacuzzi. 2 days before arrival and the day before vacating the property I tried to get answer regarding a late checkout but he never replied to email or voicemail. We had plans early morn and would like to have eliminated a packed car sitting for 2 hours unattended open for vandelism. This was a huge disappointment for his instructions indicated we could contact him. We would have been better off in a hotel which we normally use, thought we would try this but it didn’t work out for us.

Spectacular Condo!!!!
I was mesmerized by this condo!! Although I booked it based on the awesome pictures on the website...the pictures don't do it justice, it was so more phenomenal in person. The view of the ocean from everywhere in the condo was what did it for me. I love the Calafia property and was especially pleased with the dog park there as I brought my small dag with me. I am definitely renting this unit again over the summer when my out-of-town guests come to visit. I give it 5 stars!! * * * * *

The Perfect Spot To Relax!
Right in the middle conveniently between Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo. This condo is clean, modern, safe, has a 180 degree ocean view that is floor to ceiling windows, and private beach access. Their is a nearby hidden gem restaurant with conchas súper buenas called Popotla restaurant that also has an amazing drink menu and magnificent view. Honestly, if Bob (the property owner) wasn’t so awesome and helpful then I probably would just keep this place a secret so that you don’t book on my next getaway dates in this rental.

Short stay on the coast
Rosarito is much bigger than the last time we were here! If you will stay in the area, do yourself a favor and go a little further south and stay at Bob's place at Calafia. Nice condo in a good spot. Only here two nights, very comfortable and relaxing. Charlie's down the road for a great lunch. Highly recommend.

Hi Richard, the temporary solution for this was to run the hot water out of the water heater. The place was fine for the next guest that checked in the day after you left. I have had this happen once before and I know the smell. It is caused by a chemical reaction with the magnesium anode and the hard water, if it sits in the water heater to long. I refunded you the amount for the early check out. The permanent solution is to replace the mag. anode with a zinc/aluminum one. I have received it and will replace as soon as I can get down there again. Currently the border is closed. Thanks for your comment and I hope you will give us another shot. Bob

We had a great time. Enjoyed the view the most!!! Second night there was a strong storm and hit the windows pretty hard. When we first arrived and took a shower there was Abad smell, but then went away. The water in the tub was not flowing properly and we had to clean it. We could not figure out how to start the dishwasher, not sure if it was working. We did have a lead at stay and the views were spectacular.

Perfect, easy getaway spot for our little family!!!
This place was the perfect spot for a three-day trip to Rosarito. It was our first time visiting so we didn't quite know what to expect and staying here made things so simple. The place was very clean, stocked with what we needed, but the most incredible thing about this place is the VIEW!!! There's nothing like waking up to that every day! The patio doors are heavy and a little tricky to slide open which was PERFECT for us as we were traveling with two toddlers. Gave us great peace of mind and we were able to relax knowing they were always safe. We were able to check everything off our to-do list and everything was a very short drive from the residence. There was ample security, nice, clean pool, easy and private beach access, grocery stores and pharmacies close by and Bob's restaurant and entertainment recommendations were great! We would gladly stay here again.

Outstanding Property
Absolutely gorgeous interior of the property and probably the best beach views I've ever seen for a condo. You have nearly a 180 degree view of the ocean from outside on the patio, as well as sitting inside on the couches. There are also three sliding glass doors that open and offer an awesome Pacific Ocean breeze--1 in the master bedroom, 1 in the living room and 1 close to the kitchen. The check-in process was very easy as the owner provided us with many details in advance, and the security guards within the gated community were very professional and helpful if you needed assistance with anything. The city was also very fun (great restaurants) and easy to navigate. All-in-all, a very fantastic trip and we will certainly be going to this property again.

Beach Bliss
Bob's place at Calafia was just what we needed for a beach getaway in Mexico. The condo is spacious, the views are incredible, and private beach access is a short walk away. We felt safe and secure staying in Calafia, it is a 10min drive South of the busier Rosarito downtown. The condo is equipped with all the basics (except an oven) for cooking, and mixing margaritas. The master bed was comfortable if a bit firm for our liking. The ocean breeze and fans provided all the A/C we needed in late July, we even bundled up in the evening. Plenty of restaurants are a short drive away, along with the typical tourist shops and grocery stores. We'll be back next summer!

The only thing that I liked about this property was the view, easy access to the beach and gated security. What I did not like was the check in was not as expected, there is a receptionist desk and no one is there, the building is lonely. I called the Manager of the unit he did not answer left message and he never returned call. Tower 1 building shows sign of getting old, the elevator to the 5th floor got stuck while trying to go up to the 5th floor. We were stuck for about 15mins, pressed the emergency button no response, My husband had to force and open the door. We went to notify security and all he said was to use the other elevator, well I preferred the stairs. The unit security lock on the door knob to press in the code, some of the numbers are missing making it hard to view to press the numbers. The balcony next to the master bedroom the edge stucco is loose and dangerous if a heavy body leans the weight there is a chance it might break, very dangerous. Jacuzzi water is not warm, water is cold no heater.

Quaint condo with a spectacular ocean view
My family (husband and 2 sons ages 11 & 16) and I had a short but pleasant stay. The grounds seem to be getting a major face lift, with painters and grounds workers all over the complex. Our tower was an older one, getting the TLC it deserves. The condo was just as pictured. The pool was lovely and the grounds were nice. My boys were a little disappointed in basketball court., because the court is a little passed its prime, but I’m sure it’ll get some attention soon. We drove to nearby Rosarito for food. The keyless entry made our vacation. We didn’t have to worry about losing any keys. There was some misunderstanding when we got there with having the unit cleaned but that was quickly resolved by our host and the security guards. Speaking of security this place is safer than Fort Knox (if that still exists). Guards are on constant patrol. We recommend this place and plan on staying again!

Views Great but the condo coming short of expectations
Let me just say that Bob was helpful and quite responsive. The place had amazing views however it came short of delivering on the expectations...and here is why: (1) the place states that both bedrooms have views and are professionally decorated which is wrong. Master bedroom should have views but the windows were so dirty you couldn’t enjoy them and the other bedrooms has no windows (per say) and only a glass opening into the living room which has views; (2) the place was supposedly professionally decorated and was featured at some point in Bajas Distinctive home magazine...well, maybe and it does look deceivingly good on a surface but literally almost everything is falling apart (right side of arm chair rail, chester drawers in the master bathroom , holes in lamp shades, cigarette burns in dining table chairs, toilet seat cover non existent in the master bedroom, falling apart coffee table, loose screws on toilet paper holders, dirty and moldy caulking in the bathrooms or patio rail loose 🙄 ); (3) The patio sliding doors are not sliding and require heavy force of muscles, they need lubrication and a bit of maintenance; (4) there are no screens anywhere or AC so in the summer you have to leave the patio sliding doors open inviting mosquitoes and we got few bad bites; (5) the BBQ is an absolute disaster and you will have no desire to use it; (6) the bread toaster was toasting only one side of the bread because it is broken and as I was pulling the toast I got electrocuted because of disjointed coils inside of it; (7) the pool is inviting but unfortunately there are absolutely no pool chairs around it so we didn’t use it; (8) the check in instructions, aside from having an auto code to enter the condo, also suggested there was to be a key available in a lock box that we didn’t find. This caused us to raise an issue with Bob and telling him that we don’t feel good about the fact that someone else has the key we should have...he eventually fixed it by making sure the cleaners gave it back....I could probably add few other disappointing items but I think this is enough.Bob needs to take action and make the place as advertised as it is tired. The views are still great and that helped with our stay. Additionally, we were unlucky with the neighbors who were also renting and partying on the weekend we were there to rest 😏. Thats said...I think the value for the price was missing and I will not be coming back.

Spring Break at Calafia
The views are spectacular, but it’s very difficult to enjoy them here. There are no screens on the sliding doors, so when we opened them, there were numerous flies that came in immediately. It was so hot without any cross ventilation, we put the shades down, which didn’t allow us to enjoy the ocean views or listen to the waves. There were no ceiling fans to circulate the air, just one stand alone fan in the master bedroom. The accommodations were just adequate, the unit was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the showers were pleasant. We had to buy paper towels and toilet paper, there weren’t any available. The next evening, after returning from our all day outing, someone left some in the unit. Bob was very friendly and helpful.

I'm sorry that the maid forgot to leave out paper towels and toilet paper. Please call me next time I could have had that fixed in minutes. Flies generally are not a problem, if they were I would have screens. That was also an atypical warm weekend for March. Typically the high is in the high 60s low 70's. That weekend it was in the low 80's. I appreciate your suggestion about ceiling fans, I will probably add them before summer. Thank you for taking the time to review our place. Overall a great experience. Clean condo with plenty of room for two couples with two toddlers. Gated community that is well kept! Views are awesome (we had the opportunity to see whales and dolphins from the room).

Directions given were excellent, we drove right to the condo. In Mexico, I always appreciate a gated community. Unit is on the 5th floor, with floor to ceiling windows 3/4 of the way around. You get the feel of being at the beach without leaving the room. Pictures are exactly as the place was. Beautiful grounds and friendly neighbors. We were here for 2 weeks and were never bored. We did rent a car, which I feel is necessary. There is a hotel and restaurant ( which was excellent ) within walking distance, but to walk further would require walking aside a busy highway. I would highly recommend the Spacifico Spa and restaurant at Dimitrys La Fonda. The spa menu makes it hard to choose. Prices are inexpensive and the rooms face the ocean. The restaurant has a huge wood burning fireplace that felt great on a chilly morning, but the outdoor patio was so floral and beautiful. Lots of surfing in this area. We went to the beach at La Mision, Ensenada and Rosarito. The beach area at the condo is rocky, but we had a great time hiking, exploring rocks and sea life in shallow places. We saw seals, dolphins and whales! We spent a day at Valle de Guadalupe where there are many wineries and just a beautiful area. We ate at many restaurants in the Rosarito and Puerto Nuevo area, all were great! Betty’s for the best burger, EVER and Pasta y Basta for the best Italian ever! There are several casinos in the area, our favorites were Jackpot ( by Walmart ) and Renee’s. Be sure to leave some room in your suitcase for pottery. It is everywhere and I wanted it all! Beautiful property, amazing views - perfect getaway!
My boyfriend and I, along with our pup, had a wonderful stay at Bob's property. The condo was clean, very comfortable, and made for the perfect get-away vacation to Mexico. We were able to walk next door to Las Olas for a wonderful meal. Puerto Nuevo was also a quick drive down the road. Bob's condo served as lovely home base after an afternoon in Valle de Guadalupe. Wifi was fast and the TV had an extensive number of channels available. Last but not least, the views from this property are incredible! We look forward to staying again.
