We normally have very happy guests so I feel it is necessary to respond in detail to this review. The villa is an open eco design built to be used without air conditioning- it is very cool at night and there are high speed ceiling fans as well. It isn’t a seaied building - and we find that guests are comfortable sleeping with the folding walls open to the outside. There are almost no bugs at night (or daytime either) and all beds are equipped with bednets. The villa is located within 5 minutes walk of several restaurants, 10 minutes to the next local village or the center of our village and 25 minutes walk to the Ubud Monkey Forest road shops and restaurants so we don’t understand why the guest said it isn’t near anywhere! The traffic to the beach normally takes 25-30 minutes but guests generally come to Ubud area to experience the culture of Ubud not the beach! If there’s a traffic jam it can be difficult driving to the beach. The cooking classes have to be booked in advance as they are popular and the manager is available at all times. The guests stay coincided with an important Balinese festival called Galungan and laundry service was closed that day but if was available every other day for the guest. We provide a detailed guest guide for what to do and see in the Ubud area so we don’t understand why the guest felt there was no information. As for value we think we offer excellent value for our rice field location, gorgeous pool, villa quality, luxury amenities and compared to our neighbors we are priced very competitively. We think the guest was expecting a hotel. We aren’t a hotel and guests stay with us looking for a relaxing ambience, the independence of a villa rental along with discreet staff service.
