'The pictures do not match the actual rundown quality and lack of housekeeping skills that the hotel actually is.. I took pictures of the gross windows, the hair on the bathroom floor, the flat pillows. The floor above us creaked, so we could hear every movement from above and every conversation penetrated right through the walls and floor. On top of that, the breakfast was minimal with prepackaged stuff that you would buy out of a vending machine and a few cooked items that were gross.'

'Music plays until midnight, but you know this going in. The only really annoying thing is the room cards demagnetize very easily. I was carrying it in my pocket next to a credit card and it stopped working. Both mine and my girlfriends failed. They need to get a better system, rather than blaming us for having it next to something magnetic. Never had this issue at any other hotel.'

Our room was next to the freeway back there was some freeway noise as well.'

'Heel ruime kamer, centraal gelegen. Kamer wordt wel maar om de twee dagen schoongemaakt, wat wil zeggen dat je ook maar om de twee dagen koffie of thee hebt, want er was maar net genoeg voor een dag per persoon. Veilig systeem voor de lift: je kan alleen met je keycard de lift naar boven doen gaan. Valet parking is erg duur, je kan veilig parkeren onder het bankgebouw aan de overkant, maar dat is toch duurder dan de prijs die het hotelpersoneel opgaf. '

'The positive for this hotel was the close proximity to I-5. The issue was the surroundings. The whole place is surrounded by homeless people, some of whom were walking around the parking lot or the building itself. Some guests had to get help from the front desk because there were homeless people outside their window on the first floor doing inappropriate things. Yes, they had security roaming around, but it felt unsafe, particularly when I went outside off the back patio to a field so I...

'The hotel is in the worst part of Portland. They have no parking unless you pay an $80 valet fee. This you have to pay since there is no parking in the streets unless you want to risk parking in an area full of junkies and thieves. The Hoxton knows this, hence the ridiculous “valet fee” plus tip! I was able to park my car in a parking garage after a half hour of stress and exhaustion from my trip. Turns out that’s EXACTLY the place they park the valeted cars you pay $80 for!! RIPOFF JOINT'

'Location was walkable to things if you like to walk a lot. Hotel was fine older but decent. Lots of homeless ppl out front of hotel so if that doesn’t sit well with you don’t chose this place. Parking is only street parking. Staff was great'
