'The Marina Mahal is a great value option close to the centre of Jaisalmer. Akbar and Marina are a delightful Indian/New Zealand couple who are extremely hospitable and who do everything to make your stay memorable. They can arrange a brilliant trip into the desert. 'Bad front desk service; extremely slow to carry out a simple task. Food isn’t great - they should be able to get a good chef and cook more appealing meals given that the hotel is in the middle of Rajasthan. Comfy room but location is poor, staff are badly-trained and not interested in being helpful or doing anything at all above the bare minimum. Stayed here last-minute and would only advise booking if you have to do the same. '
