We'd like to extend our apologies for any inconvenience you experienced with breakfast, particularly regarding the replenishment of items like croissants. To avoid wastage, we do pause our baking at 09h15, but we're more than happy to accommodate special orders and bake fresh items for our guests. Good day Mr. Schneider, my name is Angela Caratelli, I am the GM at VBL . Post seeing your review I had a chat with my team who informed me of your unpleasant stay due to an issue with the aircon. Sadly I was away due to some medical appointments hence me not being hands on to assist with the issue. I am not sure whether you will return to our shores but I would like to offer you a 3 night stay valid until end of 2025 -excludes 15 Dec to 15 Jan yearly- and I hope that you are at some stage able to make use of this offer. I do apologise for the fact that you had to spend each of your 3 evening's in a different room due to B13 aircon issues and rest assured that we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that the same does not happen again, I have given my team some tools to assist them in better dealing with issues such as these so you as the guest is minimally inconvenienced I am only sorry you had to deal with this and I hope I am able to welcome you back to our little piece of Paradise. Good day, Thank you for taking the time to review the lodge and happy that you had an overall enjoyable stay. Please note that we do actively participate in beach clean up efforts and we belong to a local association that employs locals to assist. Unfortunately pollution in our oceans is beyond our control. Regarding food being nothing special , in comparison to all other hotels (3 star establishments in the area) we are certainly on par pricewise. We are only disheartened that you did not share this feedback while at the hotel so that we could have immediately addressed it and had a chat with our head chef who would have gladly assisted where necessary.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We do so enjoy hearing back from our guests. We are thrilled that overall, you enjoyed your stay. With regard to activities, being s small coastal town, we do our level best to offer any activities in and around the area to our guests and promote other local businesses. This is still growing however and hopefully we will be able to add more activities to guests going forward. TV's have been often considered, but with some bungalows being alongside each other - we remain aware of all guests and are sensitive to the fact that louder sets may inconvenience lighter sleepers. We do however have TV's in the common areas. Mini Bar fridges, TV's and an in-house gym are also not requirements for 3 star establishments but we do have a long 'wish / target list' and are improving on our still relatively new hotel on a constant basis. Again - hopefully we will have a number of new updates on your next visit. Wising you a very pleasant week ahead.
