Als u op zoek bent naar een authentieke ervaring, overweeg dan om in mijn huis te verblijven tijdens uw verblijf in DC. Ik ben gevestigd op een met bomen omzoomd blok in de Bloomingdale-buurt in NW. Het is een buurt van slechts ongeveer 12 vierkante blokken met veel verborgen schatten: bescheiden duikbars, verrassingsparken en bekroonde restaurants. Bloomingdale is een zandweg tussen de wijken Shaw en Eckington. Het ligt op de grens van het noordwesten van het district, dat zich uitstrekt van Second Street NW tot North Capitol, begrensd door Florida Avenue NW in het zuiden en Bryant en Channing plaatsen NW in het noorden.

Bloomingdale Beauty is een ruim Victoriaans huis met 5 slaapkamers en 3. 5 badkamers. Het biedt plaats aan 13 gasten. Er zijn echter slechts 10 bedden. Luchtbedden en tatami's zijn beschikbaar voor extra personen vanaf 10 jaar. Ik bied mijn huis aan als een schone, goedkope en veilige plek om te slapen en op te laden in de hoofdstad van de natie. Het is bescheiden en uitvoerbaar voor een paar nachten. Er is een keuken voor uw gebruik. Als u echter moet koken, moet u al uw kookbenodigdheden en keukengerei meenemen. Er zijn geen potten en pannen noch glazen of kopjes. Verwacht alles mee te nemen, als je de keuken nodig hebt.

De woning heeft een eetkamer met een zeer grote houten tafel, een woonkamer om te loungen met gasten; een strijkijzer met een strijkplank; hangers; en etc. LET OP: deze aanbieding is voor de bovenste eenheid van het huis. Er is ook een kelder. Elke eenheid is volledig privé en veilig. Tijdens uw verblijf kunnen er gasten in de kelder zijn.

At first look, the house was attractive. Upon arrival In DC, while im trying to spend time with my family, i get constant emails from the owner that i need to go ahead and check in and contact vrbo to let them know my family was with me.( ive spent way too much money on this weekend to want to keep dealing with this woman). Arrival at the property, its July 4, 90+ degrees outside, the house was soooo hot. I tried contacting the owner to unlock the thermostat, she told me to turn on the window units that were already on, and didnt work. Bathroom upstairs was shetchy at best, nobody wanted to go in there for fear of falling through the floor. Says it sleeps like 14, thats because it contains as many very cheap twin beds in every room as possible. No doubles if you want to sleep next to your spouse. Had to push 2 beds together, and they werent even the same height. Sleeps 14, but has a dining table for 6. What sense does that make? And only common area has the smallest, cheapest couch that fits maybe 2, uncomfartably. Owner should have saved money on tacky "art" and made it more livable. Also, shes apparently very proud of being a doctor, has her credentials posted everywhere and always brings it up when she gets bad reviews, check them out for a good laugh. Oh, and the instructions about cleaning before you leave... made it very clear she didnt want 1 hair left in the bathroom. Arent owners resposible for cleaning and sanitising between guests? Find a better place people.

We had a group of adults attending a convention in Washington DC. The property was perfect for what we needed. The only thing that would help would be more chairs for the table. It was HOT and HUMID while we were there as well. I know there were only window air conditioners….so maybe some oscillating fans would have been beneficial as well. Dr. Koura did stop by and this woman was amazing. So kind….so understanding. Thank you Dr. Koura for allowing to stay at your house. It was an honor.

Fun Trip

I had about nine people stay in this house and it worked absolutely amazingly! The neighborhood is very quiet and the neighbors were sweet whenever they saw us. The were a few dead bugs in the showers when we first got there but overall was clean and beautiful. Would stay again!

The pictures and description of the property paint a beautiful place. Absolutely not. From the moment we walked in there was a noticeable musky smell. I took pictures of the buildup of dirt in the air vents, the oven I was afraid to cut on from the grease buildup in it, the bathrooms were the worst with broken tiles on the floors, loose sinks not mounted properly and mildew on the sinks and showers. My wife and I both ended up with sinus infections by the next morning after sleeping there. The place is in need of some serious repairs and cleaning

Quaint neighborhood, plenty of beds

This place is as stated and as pictured in the write-up. It really shines for those who need a lot of beds to accommodate a bigger group. If you want something fancy, you will easily pay double what this is. Since we were doing a lot of sight-seeing, we were only there to sleep and take showers, and this place is perfect for that situation. This place has a lot of basic twin beds and the showers are older, but absolutely perfectly fine. There were window AC units in each room that worked great and the temp was good. The downstairs is as seen in the pics and is quite cool…almost like an art gallery. The neighborhood was very residential and quiet, not like the bustling city you’ll pass through to get there. I also easily found parking outside the place, but don't know if that’s always the case. I never ordered the parking pass from the owner or anything like that. We did not get a ticket or towed away. The area feels safe, but is very urban….don’t expect the suburbs or the country. Went to DC w our kids and an exchange student who is stating w us from France. We went to The National Mall, The White House, and The Monuments. I wouldn’t say they’re close by this residence, but we drove over there and, on a late Sat afternoon, found parking.

Just what we needed!

First of all, Dr. Koura was an excellent host! We needed help with directions to her home from the train station, I called Dr. Koura and without hesitation she gave us the directions to her home! Upon arriving to her home, it was just as described! The outside was beautiful! We felt very safe in her home! Very quiet neighborhood. We had no issues at all! The decor in the home was beautiful. The home was very clean. There were clean linens on the beds. There was soap and towels in every bathroom. The kitchen was immaculate and there was enough space for everyone! Dr. Koura was very accessible! The whole time she stayed in contact with us to make sure that everything was going well. The location of the home was close to everything that we had planned on visiting! We were able to Instacart groceries and took advantage of cooking in her beautiful kitchen! There were enough dishes, pots, and pans to do everything that we wanted! We are so thankful that we found this beautiful home to stay in during our trip in Washington! Hopefully, when we visit Washington again this home will be available! Thank you, Dr. Koura for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! God bless!

Small Town kids hit the city

Overall our stay was good. There was plenty of space for our students and it was easy to find our way to the nearest metro station. Could have used a few more pots, pans and utensils for cooking as we did prepare meals at dinner and breakfast.. Made it a bit challenging. The kids initially complained there was no TV but after a very short time they adapted.
