'room was well meant maintained, clean, friendly staff'

'We were very disappointed with the Holiday Inn in Columbus, Texas. I would not recommend this property to anyone! This hotel needs to be refurbished or remodeled or leveled and start over. This Holiday Inn is not like any other Holiday Inn we have stayed in. I suggest management go spend two nights in this property. See what I'm saying. Disappointing!!! 'It’s a dirty dump! The pool was gross (bugs, chipped concrete, full trash, and trash in the bushes). The fitness center was a sauna - the air conditioning didn’t work and it was 80 degrees in there according to the thermostat. They said they were having someone come “next week” to fix it. They didn’t even have towels in there. When we checked in, the woman wouldn’t give us an extra blanket - said we could just turn down our AC. 'The dead bolt on the room did not work. Tried to inform staff of it when I left, but no one came to the front desk. Slept with the big chair blocking the door.'

'For an advertised non-smoking room, it smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was stained and in disrepair. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were flat and not enough of them. It was cheap and convenient but I’d probably not stay there again. Towels were clean and having a fridge and microwave was nice for such a cheap room. Lack of deadbolts and safety bar was unsettling. 'Second time coming here and not the last. The perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. I love spending time outside on the property as well as surrounding areas enjoying wineries, meaderies, shopping, food, and live music. The host family is the best. Attentive, and very genuine good people. I love the Queens Hotel!!! Has everything we needed, and is always clean and ready for a great weekend.'
