The only reason I gave the location four stars is that for someone “directionally challenged” like me, it was not easy to find as I would have liked, just like every place in Ireland. '

'The accommodation is both a bar/restaurant and a b&b and sits next to the eastern pier about 400 metres from the ferry drop off. Despite my room being right above the bar - which was happy and full of chat - it was perfectly quiet in the evening. I had a great full Irish breakfast the next morning. Service was pleasant and friendly. Great!'

'We were not booked in via Vrbo ? Apparently it had to be done manually? Clearly the communication between Vrbo and The Ivy was not working, however a room was found for us, had to be changed from a double to a twin as per specifics of our booking. Newly decorated and carpeted room, very lovey, dated shower and NO mattress cover on the my single bed ? Yuk. Room not refreshed on day 2, no replenished milk/tea coffee etc. Despite this we were made welcome and the breakfast was lovely - thank you,...

'Modern well appointed and nicely decorated room with comfortable bed. On arrival we had expected to meet the host but there was a card with wifi and room number on a table. We missed the personal touch we had experienced at other locations. Breakfast was mostly self help but the cooked breakfast was requested and served. A short drive to pub restaurants is better than walking to them. Good location for trips to the islands or cliffs.'
