'Booked for a babymoon break over New Year and we got exactly what we wanted - a restful break in a hotel with great facilities. Our room was very comfortable especially the bed, the pool area is lovely with its windows on to the adjacent stream and waterfall, a great variety at breakfast and when we dined in the restaurant one evening, it was the best meal we had the whole trip. Highly recommend for trips to Whitby and the surrounding area. '

'Excellent check in by Matt, enabled us to check in early and took all our bags up to the room for us. Room was clean and comfortable and we couldn't hear any noise from the bar downstairs. Excellent location opposite the train station and all local amenities on the doorstop.
Unfortunately the live act that was on was singing IRA Support songs and when my partner objected and complained we were asked to leave the bar. The singer did admit that he was wrong and had caused us being told to leave'

'A wonderful stay with a beautiful room (well rooms as it had a seperate living and dining room) over the top of a Proper Pub, (wooden beams, walls covered in old brewery and pub stuff) music in the background but not so loud as to drown out conversation. Great selection of ales. Really couldn't fault it. Nice breakfast basket in the room, milk and OJ in the fridge. We were overlooking the beer garden but the noise wasn't excessive. Everyone we met from the bar staff to the lady who was cleaning...

It was about a 10 minute walk to the harbour (anout 30 minutes to walk back, it's a very steep hill! Dont believe google maps that says mostly flat!)
There is a bus stop outside the hotel but we didn't use it. However, on our last evenung we had a taxi and it was £4.50.'

'Lovely little cottage. some damp but I suppose it is to be suspected with the age and location of the building. Windows are a bit stiff, but the kitchen window should be opened due to lack of an extractor. There was no soap, but everything else we needed was provided. The location was excellent and access was easy, aside from parking but we managed OK.'
