'We love the uniqueness of this property, it was cozy and serene, the locked gate was especially nice as it made us feel extra safe. The Hawthorne area is quaint and loaded with dining and shopping options; while streets are busy it is quite walkable, and not far from gorgeous areas like Mt. Tabor Park. Comfortable couch and bed, small but well designed bathroom and kitchenette, both stocked with supplies to make the stay simple. 'Very close walk to the Alberta Rose theater and the many restaurants on the Main Street of Alberta. The only problem we had was getting in initially. The owner gave us a code for VRBO rather than Expedia which we had booked through. Fortunately she was home and came right over. It is a little difficult to find since the cottage is in the back of the address. From the photo, I remembered a large star on the front of the cottage and noticed a much smaller star on the fence at the alley...

'It talks about a private entrance but it isn't because there are multiple rooms in the basement of this property that get rented out. I had hoped to have a private getaway and instead i was greated with a shared entrance and steep shared parking on gravel. Also, when you walk into get into the door there isn't an indicator as to which key box your code is for. The "doors" to each room/space is just a sliding glass door. Extremely revealing as we could see into both our rooms and others...
