'Cleanliness 5 *.. Room lovely with nice size balcony overlooking lakeside although views limited due to hillside that the hotel overlooks was in full foliage. Breakfast brilliant, and location a few minutes drive from the quayside of Bowness and therefore very quiet at night. Staff very helpful. .'

'The accommodation is very clean, free hot drinks while we stayed and staff very nice, it could do with a lick of paint in certain areas. The location is amazing for walking to both Grasmere and Ambleside. We went to the local pub to watch the badgers. The grounds of Rydal Hall are beautiful and include the grot and a waterfall, Would stay again.'

'Staying at this hotel was a last minute thing due to a mix up at our original booking and I have to say it was a godsend! We arrived 45 minutes after booking and were welcomed by friendly staff and a very clean room. The location was great and we went on a bike ride around the very quaint village and down by the river. I would definitely stay here again as it’s a great village hotel with great staff.'
