'Before you book: if you haven't stay on a mountain hotel, and you don't know how to handle some bugs or moisture, don't book. This hotel is in the mountain, so there are bugs and moisture visible. 'Wonderful place with a wonderful owner. We were here in December and in that time of the year, be prepared to have warm clothes. As in every house around, you wear warm clothes inside as well. No central heating but AC in the rooms. The owner of the place is very helpful and everything can be solved thanks to a translation device/application, good mood and patience. 'Part of the national park (heavens gate) is very close (10 mins in car) other parts are further away but that would be the same for any hotel you stay in, the park is vast and has 5 gates so you would choose a gate then a hotel close to that gate. 'Lovely and homely stay at the lodge. We were pleasantly upgraded to a cabin room which we loved. Rain was extremely welcoming and helped us with all our luggage and even brought out a heater to our room as soon as we asked. Great communication, amazing location for the Zhangjaijei mountains, and Rain even dropped us and picked us up. There is a tea master as well who makes home made teas and some cute pets. Truly feels like a lovely family run cosy home. Would definitely recommend!'
