Zanzibar: Kindvriendelijke vakanties

A smaller hotel but with provided a great experience. The staff were outstanding from reception to the bar. The rooms were very cool (we had a family room) and large, clean and very well appointed. The restaurant always looked good with many options enough to satisfy kids too. The kids also loved the pool & table tennis games room. The Dive centre in the hotel was also excellent and one of the reasons we chose this hotel. It all worked well. Just over an hour from the airport but plenty stuff to do at or near hotel with Mnemba Island just a short boat ride away!

Our stay at Diamonds Mapenzi Beach had several positive aspects. The location is good, the pool area is nice, and the staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout the stay. That said, there are a few points worth being aware of. The rooms appear more worn in reality than the pictures suggest, which detracts from the overall impression. In addition, the food unfortunately falls below expectations. Considering the price, the culinary experience could have been significantly better. This becomes particularly noticeable when compared to similar hotels in destinations such as the Seychelles or Cape Verde, where the food standard is often higher within the same price range. It is also worth mentioning that the Hotels.com Gold benefits (Early/Late checkout, Upgrade) do not seem to apply here (even when listed on confirmatio). However, this appears to be more an issue with Hotels.com rather than the hotel itself. Overall, a perfectly acceptable place to stay, but somewhat overpriced for the experience it offers.

We had a lovely stay at the Baraza Resort. Although the beach, villa and food were top notch, it is the staff that deserve six stars! The entire staff are so wonderful and cater to your every need. This was the perfect stop after 8 days of Safari before our long journey home. I can’t recommend the hotel more highly. We also enjoyed the spa which was fabulous.

We zouden 5 sterren geven voor het resort, hoe leuk het is om tijd te vertoeven aan het zwembad, aan zee (neem er wel de verschillende strandverkopers bij), in de verschillende restaurants. Het personeel is door de band ook heel vriendelijk. Wij hadden echter een garden view kamer (nr. 803 om precies te zijn) en door de hoge vochtigheidsgraad was het er altijd heel klam en hing er een muffe geur. Er stond schimmel op verschillende muren, de spiegels waren heel vaak uren na een douche nog aangedampt en het vocht voelde en zag je zo op het plafond, muren en grond. Dat alles is niet alleen heel onaangenaam maar ook ongezond. Dat vonden we echt geen 5 sterren waardig. Geen idee of dit ook zo is op kamers op een verdieping, maar lijkt me alleszins het vragen waard als je er boekt.

The resort is Ok and the staff is nice, rooms are good and clean. Main disadvantage are the big distances o be covered between room and beach and between room and restaurant. Just too long. The hotel is too big for me... Furthermore not really flexible. "No, it is not possible" seems to be the default answer to customer questions.
