Would recommend for a short stay in Newcastle. Only negative for us was the beds were too soft and air con quite loud, so had to turn off to sleep. Otherwise excellent. '

'We had the one bedroom apartment which is absolutely huge. It has two outdoor seating areas on opposite sides of the unit. Access to your unit, the building, and the garage are all a single code to remember. The elevator is quick, though there are only 3 levels (garage, lobby, rooms). The one bedroom apartments are strange in that you have to enter the code at two different entry doors before heading up a staircase to reach your living space. 'The Crystalbrook in Newcastle was a pleasant stay for a weekend. The rooftop bar was great, though very busy and they weren't wrong - you need to book for dinner! The room was great, everything is fairly new so it was clean and not worn out. Location is walkable to lots of local attractions, Darby St and the waterfront are all walkable if you're able to. '

'Lovely welcoming staff even though we were clearly well above the age of their average guest. We had been prewarned that it may be noisy as the hotel is in the middle of the nightlife area and when we checked in they told us there was a big event with djs in the bar. Indeed our room was very noisy in the early evening but when we got back from dinner, at exactly 21.30, all of a sudden the music stopped and you could hear a pin drop it was so quiet. Very nicely arranged. Nice shower. Good...

'Loved our huge room with wrap around veranda. Bed was comfortable, room was stocked with plenty of coffee, and the food at the pub was excellent. We could walk to the beach and other restaurants all very close.'

'The standard of the house keeping was poor, the floors/carpet were not cleaned properly, towel were the smallest I have ever seen in a in anything other than a 3 star hotel, our bedding was not changed during the 4 night stay. Despite booking a bed and breakfast package and a booking confirmation that said "free breakfast" and being given a 2 for one coffee voucher valid for the 4 days, when I went to check our they tried to charge me for anything other than one coffee or tea at breakfast and...
