Thank you for your review. If I understand correctly, you were disappointed that the property was in the centre of the vegetable, spice, coffee and fruit growing area of Bali. I think for many guests this is an attraction, as they enjoy exploring the local farms and markets to get supplies. I would not say that the cabin is surrounded by buildings for growing strawberries (if I have understood you correctly). There are some fields with polytunnels which you can see in the photos looking towards the lake, but these hardly detract from the view of the lake, as the photos show. To the rear of the cabin there is uncultivated rain forest and mountains which stretch for miles and harbour plenty of wild life, including sea eagles, fireflies, orchids, giant moths, jungle fowl and other tropical birds, all of which visit the garden from time too time. We recommend a guide for trekking in the rain forests.

After receiving over 50 5 star reviews it is disappointing to receive a less than enthusiastic report, and we are very concerned that you felt the need to check out early. We wonder what could have gone wrong. Transport should not be a problem. I understand options were offered but declined. We arrange car and driver or motor scooter rental and most guests avail themselves of this facility if they don't have their own transport. It is also possible to walk across the fields to the lake and to several cafes and restaurants and hire bicycles, Kayaks and paddle boards. You can also walk to a temple overlooking the lake. I don't understand what the problem was with the kitchen this is very well-equipped for a Bali kitchen, so I don't understand what might have been difficult to use. We have 5-hob gas hob with oven and grill, an electric grill, microwave electric toaster, grill and rice cooker. We will check the boiler settings for the shower. It was recently serviced. Glad you enjoyed the views and the garden.

Yes it is important to keep the windows open to get a good airflow in a wooden house. Screens would spoil the lovely views I think and there are no mosquitos or harmful bugs. So most guests would want to keep them open. The house flies can be a bit annoying during the day at this time of year, but they are completely harmless. We do have sprays and fly killers which guests can use if they wish. We do also advise guests not to leave any food out and to keep surfaces clean.

Thanks for your comments. Flies can be a nuisance in the area at this time of year. We have sprays in the house and an electric fly killer. It is also a good idea to light a candle when you are eating. We dont spray outside because we dont want to kill the amazing moths and fireflies that visit. Bathrooms and kitchen scheduled for updates in 2020. At the time of building these were the best fittings we could get locally but there are a few more options now.

Thank you Zita for your kind comments. Sorry you couldn't get the fire going - Kadek usually finds a way, but I have to confess I sometimes struggle. Dry kindling is the answer - I must make sure we always have plenty in. Sorry about the WiFi. In low cloud, the antenna might have been affected. We should have fibre optic broadband and streaming TV in the next couple of months, since this has recently become available.
