'Excellent property in a superb location. Only a few minutes walk to town through a lovely woodland. It accommodated 4 adults and two dogs perfectly. The host was exceptional with thier preparation of the property and it was faultless for our needs. Highly recommended for time spent in Belper or the wider region.'

'Facilities in hotel and room as expected for a hotel. Has a somewhat tired look about the building dreaming of former glory. For some of the staff they gave the impression thast they were in employment but not within the hotel trade.'

'Fabulous stay. Lovely, spacious, spotless twin room with very clean, modern en suite. Everywhere is extremely clean and very well maintained. Plenty of parking and a fantastic outside area for sunny days. Staff very friendly and helpful. Generous meal portions and absolutely delicious! We joined in the quiz night and were even greeted warmly (and helped!) by the locals. We will definitely be staying again!'

'The staff at The Bear Inn are terrific: it’s a family-run business and nothing was too much trouble. You soon will get to know everyone’s name a they will remember yours; it’s the little things that set a small country Inn apart from the bigger and soulless enterprises. 'it’s okay. my room was now hoovered at all, dirty floor, checked bed for bed buds and it was safe to sleep. the heater was cold majority of night and only when i woke up after 7am i noticed it actually worked, didnt think it did. if the cleanliness of the place was better it would be a better review but staff is very helpful. cant go wrong for £40 per night.'

'Good hotel, good location, although all the outside restaurants are a 15 minute walk away. Had dinner twice at the hotel restaurant, which was good. Parking is in a public parking place 5 minutes away; hotel guests pay half the normal price: 8 GBP a day. Nice and helpful staff. Room was not very large but OK although the airco caused an unpleasant draught and had to be switched off when I was in the room. My main gripe is the wifi connection in the room which runs (if it runs at all) at 0.16...

'Lovely quirky place, close to the local amenities! Everything was catered for and a welcome gift greeted us on arrival. The secluded garden was a little treat to relax in. Rooms were spacious and clean. Parking outside and on the street! Will definitely come back!'

'The hotel room was ok and spacious. Shower gave not so much water. But in general it was a rundown place. We had to wait for food and breakfast long times. At breakfast some plates were not clean. The juice containers were almost empty. And on our departure date we couldn’t get breakfast because of a problem in the kitchen. While having breakfast there was the constant noice of the vacuum cleaner. When mobbing the floor, the employee hardly cleaned the mob in the bucket. The general appearance...

'The hotel is fabulous, the staff are incredibly friendly and the rooms are clean and luxurious. The only thing that could be improved is to fit air conditioning in the rooms. At night the room became quite stuffy and it's not possible to open patio doors at night. Apart from that - amazing'
