'Mallard House was perfect for a little family getaway.. It’s been updated recently and was super clean. Best part of the weekend was relaxing and watching the water through the wall of windows in the sunroom with morning coffee. Kitchen is stocked with the basics and the owners were kind enough to leave some microwave popcorn. Beds were comfy and bathrooms were stocked with soap. Shampoo & conditioner. Their regular coffee maker had recently broken but there is a kuerig. Plenty of games &...

'Secluded and quiet but close enough to get to either Shreveport or Ruston. We rode up Hwy 519 to check Lake Claiborne and Homer. Then back down to Minden. Very scenic.'

'The property was top notch. The pictures don’t do it justice. We had 8 adults who slept in the property and 2 that stayed in an RV with their teenagers in the circle drive. There was plenty of room for our other 4 cars in the driveway, and my sister and her family could have stayed in the house with us but they were traveling through and decided to just stay in their RV. There was so much to do for everyone! We enjoyed the outside games by the grill and Blackstone while watching football...

'The only positive I can say was about the front desk lady- she was nice- other than that, I have never been more disappointed in a hotel. We stayed there on 4/18. The sheets were dirty, pillowcases dirty- there was actual urine spots (you could smell it) on the comforter and bed. No housekeeping on site so I had to change all of the bedding myself (did see that part come from the clean laundry). The room was non smoking but smelled like smoke and everything we brought in still stinks like stale...
