'This cabin has a lot of character and charm. I loved it because it reminded me of going to deer camp with my Dad when I was younger. 'Great lodge. Well-stocked and fit our group of 9 easily. 2.5 baths. Hot tub, fire pit, sauna, screened in back porch were great. Easy walk to Monocle lake, lake superior trail on a sometimes busy road, but an easy walk. Great sunset view!Superb location to many of the best Upper Peninsula day trips. Will be returning when possible.'

'We really enjoyed the property overall. It has a beautiful view and easy access to Lake Superior. We had a little issue with the internet due to storms however the owner was quick to respond and provided options. We also got a little unlucky with temperatures as we had record high temps in the 90’s one of the days which made sleeping in the loft area a no go. Luckily there were 3 couches in the living area that worked great for our kids. The “stairs” to the loft area are quite steep and more...

'My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!'
