'A simple and modest country village pub with very friendly owners who took great pains to welcome and look after me. Arriving late, they had kept a good supper for me. The bedroom was large, clean and nicely old fashioned. The old church nearby chimed through the night but did not wake me. As I left before breakfast, the landlords left me a sandwich and apple. In no way smart and modern but with a very warm and relaxing atmosphere. '

'Moest lang wachten met inchecken omdat de barman (eigenaar?) langdurig met biertappen bezig was. Kamer en bed waren op zich wel goed, ondanks lawaai buiten kwam weinig naar binnen zolang ramen maar gesloten bleven. M.i. een oude herberg of posthotel, door de ligging op zw en bouwwijze behoorlijk warme kamer. Warme maaltijd kon ondanks late tijdstip besteld worden, was goed.'
