'Wij hadden toen we binnen kwamen al een kakkerlak binnen zitten, levend! De dag dat we vertrokken dook er weer 1 op. Bedden waren voor amerikaanse begrippen erg smal. Veel te dunne dekens. Vieze handdoeken werden niet opgehaald. Evenals de vuil bleef 5 dagen liggen. Ontbijt waardeloos. '

'We loved our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the parking. The breakfast was also good. Every was very clean. I would stay there again. '

'De kamer is prima! Het gebouw is al wat ouder, maar wel schoon. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en geeft graag advies en hulp. Op de gangen kan het wel iets luidruchtiger zijn en soms afhankelijk van de wind komen vliegtuigen over.'

'The hotel requires the room card be inserted into card reader to have access to the lighting and fixtures inside the room like lights, electrical outlets, etc. It can be helpful since this reminds you to take the card before you leave the room. Bedding was good and comfy. For the most part is clean. Found a few trash containers behind the nightstand from previous guest. The lock safe was out of battery power so locking valuables was a missed opportunity.

'Near from Flushing station. Ideal if you go to concert or a game in Cifi Field or events in Queens. This is a chinesse area, so every food is asian. I order korean food and was good. The front desk service was good, the room was so nice.

'I read the mixed reviews and chose Macaw Guesthouse anyway - I am glad that I did. It was a reasonable option in expensive New York City and it was as described. Charming hosts who went out of their way to welcome me and ensure that I was comfortable. Short walk to transportation options and dining options nearby. Highly recommend and would stay again. '

"Prima hotel voor een prima prijs. Vriendelijk personeel. Omgeving is top. Ruime kamers. Schoon. "
"Prima faciliteiten in het gebouw, zoals een washok, loungekamer en een leuk winkeltje waar je broodjes en drinken kunt halen. Leuke activiteiten worden er georganiseerd, zoals een tour door Central Park of fietsen door Harlem. Ook is het dicht bij het openbaar vervoer. De kamers zijn schoon en je hebt best wat privacy door de gordijntjes, ook al zit je soms met 10 mensen op een kamer. Elke ruimte is voorzien van airconditioning. Dat maakt soms veel lawaai, maar dat went snel. Het personeel is soms wat druk, maar meestal aardig en behulpzaam. Ik raad je deze hostel aan als je voor een kleine prijs in een goede hostel op een redelijk centrale plek, naast Central Park, wil verblijven. "

"Goed hotel, dicht bij 2 metro stations. Met 10 minuten zit je op Manhattan. Kamers waren netjes. Vriendelijk personeel bij de receptie.
Voor een verblijf in de buurt van Manhattan is dit een goede optie.

"Nette kamers met goede bedden. Als je ook gebruik maakt van de slaapbank, wordt deze niet opgemaakt bij aankomst. Dat moet je zelf doen. Ook tijdens het verblijf wordt hier geen aandacht aan geschonken. Het ‘gewone’ bed wordt wel elke dag opgemaakt en ook dagelijks schone handdoeken.
De ontbijtruimte is te klein voor het aantal gasten. Na het ontbijt lange rijen bij de lift..

"Net en nieuw hotel. Mooie ruime kamers. Verschillende metro haltes dichtbij. Ondanks dat het een hotel is zonder receptie toch hele dag medewerkers aanwezig. "
"Hotel and staff are absolutely fantastic. Very helpfull , friendly en warm welcome. The only thing about the area if you walk to and from the nearest metro station you have to go through a projects neigborhood. Where lot of people who live there specially in the evening are smoking weed, hanging arround. They dont bother you if you just mind your business. But i think if you are a woman alone it could feel unsave. "

Rooftop has a great view, but first you need to get thru the “I do this for so long, we don’t need guests, leave your camera in your room” door persoon. They include tip even on drinks at the bar… new for me in NYC.
My room was on the 11th floor and was happy that at 3 AM finally the rooftop bar turned of the music."
