'I’m real easy going, simple, and easy to please, but my stay here was less then subpar.. so much so I actually feel inclined to leave a review. Staff were incredibly rude, dismissive, and uninterested in doing their job. 'The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was clean, but bathroom was dated and water pressure not great. Also some gouging along one wall was a little unsightly and in need of repair and the curtains although functional were stained in places. A very nice view of the Mackinaw Bridge and the beach area was nice for sitting and enjoying the view, but no access to actually swim. The pool, free breakfast, and general grounds were all nicely maintained.'

'I didn't know what to expect coming into Sunrise Beach Motel since I had read both very positive reviews as well as some pretty scathing ones. But my experience was excellent. 'This is truly a hidden gem! I cannot say enough I much I enjoyed my stay! The room was a very nice size, clean, and safe. The hotel sits right on the beach, plenty of wandering space. Perfect sunsets and plenty of fire pits! 😊 AND the staff- 100% the most wonderful I have ever encountered. I just can’t get over how great my stay was. Will definitely be returning.'

'The beds were clean. The rest was a dump. Wallpaper peeling off the wall in multiple places, tv did not work, bathroom shower head super low- would not even hit above my son’s shoulders. Black dots all over the bathroom ceiling- no fan for bathroom to help humidity. Broken ice machine outside the room. Front office looked abandoned, all check ins had to go through the neighboring hotel that advertised much cheaper rooms and property was much nicer. Door knob had a lock on it (not a dead bolt)...

'My two favorite aspects about this motel were that it is still privately-owned while others in the area are not; and it is not a two-story structure. Unfortunately, some of our neighbors were loud which you can’t always combat. I loved the coupons the office provided at check-in. We used many of them! The motel is about three blocks from most attractions. All in all, a nice stay in Mackinaw City.'
