Dank der netten und hilfsbereiten Gastgeber, fühlt man sich ab dem ersten Moment wie zu Hause. Sie standen immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Das Hotel selbst ist eine kleine ruhige Oase mitten in der Stadt. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannend und einladend, und es gibt viele gemütliche Ecken und einen schönen Garten um sich zurückzuziehen. Die Zimmer waren komfortabel und gepflegt. Es fühlte sich wirklich an, als wäre man bei Freunden zu Besuch. Insgesamt kann ich das wärmstens empfehlen für alle, die nach einer gemütlichen Unterkunft suchen, in der man sich wie zu Hause fühlt.

We had an incredible stay here! The owner's were extremely friendly, gave us great recommendations of places to see in town, and treated us with the upmost hospitality. The hotel itself is incredibly beautiful, quiet and charming. Our stay could not have been better and we are so grateful to have found this gem. We will absolutely return in the future and could not recommend it enough!

Super friendly and cosy hotel
We had an amazing stay at Villa - Hotel ESCALA. We stayed there for 8 days for a conference, and some days off. The owners were exceptionally friendly, and they really went out of their way to make us feel like home. We arrived in the middle of the night, but they stayed up for us and greeted us with a smile. The most genuinely friendly hosts we have ever met. Will for sure stay here if we come back, and can not recommend it enough. Breakfast was a small buffet, but very tasty, with different home made warm dishes every day. There is also a very cosy garden, ideal to relax or have a writing day if working. Thank you for having us! Hope to see you again!

The best stay I’ve had in a long time including travel in Europe and United States. I arrived nearly at midnight with my young son after 24hrs of air travel. The owner waited for us, took us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. In the morning she made homemade breakfast for us at 11am when we finally woke up. I cannot day enough about this place. Exceptional in every way and exceedingly preferred to the large, impersonal chain hotels.

Very friendly and attentive hosts!
Our stay here was very good! It is only 10min walk from the train station which suited us as we arrived by train in the small hours of the morning. Our host was ready to receive us and check us in, making sure we had everything we needed! Both hosts were very friendly and attentive and gave excellent suggestions for sightseeing and eating out. Only small complaint was that it was a little expensive, particularly for breakfast when compared to other establishments in the area. It was however, in my opinion well worth the visit as it was a very nice place overall, especially the hosts!

Charming host Andre discretely and professionally ensures a pleasant stay, he provides detailed suggestions on what to do and what to see, which is particularly helpful as the public tourist information is rather meagre. Beautiful well-appointed room, walkable to city center.

I only had a brief stay at the Villa-Hotel Escala, as I arrived late evening by train and had to fly out of Cluj early next morning, but the manager, Adrian, went out of his way to be helpful in every way. He recommended a restaurant that opened late, took my case to my room whilst I ate, gave me an early morning call at 4.40am and booked me a taxi to the airport. He was friendly and spoke excellent English.

Husband and wide run a top-notch inn, with experience like a cozy B&B. We arrived around midnight, but no problem. Personal breakfast (not included in booking price) was really great. They helped us with travel advice and kept our bags for us after we checked out so that we could enjoy a day of sightseeing at Salina Turda.

Wonderful welcome to Romania from the lovely couple who run this family hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for Claudia and her husband who did everything they could to help us enjoy our brief stay in Cluj. Awesome breakfasts included home made jam and fig rolls from their own fig tree. Hotel has a lovely garden and is peaceful yet only 15 minutes walk from the centre

Beautiful friendly perfect accomodation.
Amazing beautiful place to stay. Just a short walk to city centre yet away from the noise. The room was nice and very good quality with a beautiful bathroom. Communal areas very welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the hosts were the best we have met. Would do anything for us. We had a suite room with its own balcony and view. Everything perfect about this lovely place.

שהינו 4 לילות במלון וילה אסקאלה בקלוז.זהו מלון בוטיק בן 9 חדרים המנוהל עי זוג מקסים שגר שם עם שני ילדיו.החדר היה נקי ומרוהט בסגנון עתיק ורומנטי.חדר אמבטיה מרווח עם מים רותחים כל היום.המלון כולו מחומם היטב.בעל המלון אמר לנו ביום הראשון שבכל ערב ניידע אותו באיזו שעה נרצה לאכול את א.הבוקר.אדריאן ואשתו היו נחמדים מאד וניסו לעזור בהמלצות על טיולים ומסעדות טובות בעיר.הרגשנו שאנו מבקרים דודים.למי שמחפש מלון שקט ואינטימי במיקום מצויין זה המקום.החיסרון היחיד הוא שמעבר לכביש ישנו בית קברות.בנוסף אין מעלית אז צריך לעלות ברגל 2-3 קומות.

A very pleasant corner of Cluj
Escala is a solid inn. The property is very well kept, pleasant and reasonably priced. The owners provided refined service for our entire visit, from arrival through their tasty breakfast. The innkeepers are life long residents of Cluj and are well prepared to offer advice on events and high points in town. Recommend.

Fabulous bed-and-breakfast feel hotel
This is a fabulous hotel! It's cozy, with a bed-and-breakfast feel in the centre of a great city. The room was spacious and impeccably clean. The owners took fantastic care of us - including getting up at 4 am to make us coffee before we headed out. The hotel is a short and pleasant walk to the centre of the city. A great experience. Our only regret is that we had too little time. We plan to go back!

We had very good communication from the owner before we arrived, and while we were there he and his wife could not have been more helpful. Our room was very clean and pleasant and there was lots of breakfast at the time of our choice. We shall definitely return.

One of the best
Everything was good down there. Design, room, bathroom, spacious, excellent customer service, quiet, good breakfast and I could go on and on. The owners would treat you like family. Best for couples and tourists that are not into partying. Or businessmen. I enjoyed the staying and I would definitely come back.

From the first minute they open the door, the hosts make you feel right at home. I could spend hours talking about all we liked during our 5 night stay but if i can summarize it in few words, It would be Elegance, great quality of service and also overall pleasure to interact with the hosts. on top of that, they make delicious breakfasts , so don't bother going elsewhere for that. Also follow their restaurant recommendations (Roata was my favourite) as all are good and walking distance from downtown (As is the hotel)

The owners are friendly and helpful. We had to arrive very late, and we had to leave our luggage until late on our departure day. They were wonderful about it, called us a cab for the train station and invited us to relax in the living room the evening after we had checked out since we had time to kill before our train. Basket of fruit in the room was lovely. Room as small but very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Hotel is in a quiet spot up a hill away from the busy roads. The one drawback for me was the wifi, which was so weak as to be practically nonexistent. Since I had some urgent work to do, I had to pass on the breakfast and head out right away with my laptop to a cafe with a strong connection.

Lovely Family-Run Hotel
Rooms come with amenities, bathrobes, slippers, fully equipped mini-bar, refrigerator, Cable TV, and a nice complementary fruit basket. Rooms also have the option of extra heat in winter and air conditioning in the summer. You can order breakfast for a set time.

We enjoyed our two nights' stay. The Hotel is close to the Gara (train station) and was an easy walk to other places we visited. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was very nice.

Bardzo miła obsługa małego rodzinnego hotelu. Idealna lokalizacja. Bardzo blisko centrum (<10 min spacerem) ale w cichej dzielnicy willowej. Atmosfera hotelu na 6. Czyste pokoje i przesympatyczny zielony zakątek w postaci ogrodu za domem. Jeśli będę tam jeszcze podróżował koniecznie się tam zatrzymam.

My wife and I stayed at the Villa Escala fort 5 nights in mid July to attend a wedding . The experience of staying at the Escala could not have been better,nothing was a problem for the staff and the stay lived up to all expectations. This was my second family hotel on this trip. I am so impressed by the care and love exhibited. I was treated like a member of the family in so many ways. It was appointed like a major four star hotel, but with a most human touch. I had to leave early on the day I was traveling and so would miss the breakfast. Not only did the owner give me a couple of hard boiled eggs I had asked for, but made me sandwiches for my trip.

A wonderful experience
If you are looking for cozy, charming place to stay in Cluj-Napoca, definitely give Escala a try. The hotel is owned and operated by a dedicated, attentive family. From flexible breakfast hours to tourist advice, the hotel owners made sure we did not miss anything: spotless rooms, fast and reliable wifi , great location, quiet atmosphere, etc. We will definitely stay at Escala again when we go back to Cluj-Napoca.
