What could have been
Beautiful property marred by broken a/c system, complicated by middle company Vacasa to deal with, no one local at Vacasa able to help unless during 9-5 hours. Took 24-26 hours to get the problem identified took about 36 hours for temps to get to comfortable temps 2 nights of a 4 night stay uncomfortable.First night 87 degrees inside, no fans in property, most windows do not open-blocked by hurricane shields or do not have screens. One window opened in master bedroom had large whole, we spent over an hour killing bugs. Went to get into bed and master br covered in hairs that were not our own, appeared to be human medium to long curly and animal, short looked like dog hair. Disgusting. After originally offering refund of first night stay to us in person, Vacasa rep/owner stated that since they found the problem, they should only have to give us under 30% of that amount and settled on just over 60% of the first night stay. Really disappointing to deal with owner and local vacasa rep for so many hours for them not to stick to their word. Vacasa also originally said due to cleanliness issues they would also refund us. That dropped and everything blamed on owner .... all documented with photos sent to Vacasa and VRBO. Will not rent with Vacasa again as central Vacasa office can do nothing but relay messages to local Vacasa office who is open 9-5. We had to get our own fans or go home brutal temps inside.Bottom line: get every interaction with this owner/Vacasa in writing.
