'We came to Hotel Tybee because it offered what we sought, a direct path to the beach on a romantic getaway for two. Reading about its history prior to booking told us this was a luxurious destination for the elite, since become an affordable family destination. To this end we booked the Ocean View King room, their most romantic offering, but when we entered the room we saw: sand all over the floor; leftover food from the previous guest in the mini fridge; the fitted sheet turned inside out...

'This is a cute little motel. I would say that it is fine for an overnight stay but would be difficult for a longer stay. The place is very clean and you can tell that they work very hard to keep it to work nice. The rooms are not large and the bathrooms are ridiculously small. If you've read reviews about the toilet to be extremely close to the shower, that is accurate but I didn't find it that upsetting. Or room looked nothing like the pictures on the website so that was a bit of a surprise....

'The do not have Queen beds, despite all advertising saying they did. When I brought this up with management, they said they only have doubles and didn’t seem to care that their website says otherwise. We also couldn’t have anyone sleep on the floor because there were little beetles crawling around. Carpet had a tear that was duct taped together. The bed light switch was hanging out by its wires.'
