'We had such a lovely stay at the Bassenthwaite Lodges. The lodge was all ready with the necessities and was lovely and clean. Great location to the lake and a lovely little park on site for children. Highly recommend and hope to return in the future'

Eileen & Richard’s house is unquestionably one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed at. The entire house is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished, the kitchen has everything you could need and more; bedrooms comfortable and there are many small, but well considered little touches throughout the house that make it feel so...

'The location is excellent, close to the city center. The parking opportunities are limited, fortunately unloading and loading is possible in the street of the location. The apartment is well equipped and sizable. However, the windows pf apartment 3 are facing an inner court with a venting system of a restaurant. It produces strong kitchen smells during most of the day. It should be discussed with the owner how to reduce the smells (with scrubs, perhaps).'

'This was a wonderful house in a wonderful location. Almost magical-views out every window, well stocked. A virtual rabbits warren of thick walled rooms well decorated and festive for the holidays. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Loved the walking paths outside and the playground across the street. Clean and comfortable.'

'My wife and I had a lovely stay in Crooksland, despite the weather. There were ample opportunities for walks in the Lake district and we also loved visiting Blackpool on a sunny day. The only things we had not really expected were that the cottage is really small and does not have a nice view. You only see the table and chairs in the garden and your car.'

'What a beautiful location for a lodge! The lodge itself was well presented and clean with everything you would need, but by far the best things are the views and the peace. You are only 15mins away from Keswick. We will definitely be back.'

'we had a wonderful week at the lodge : everything you need to cook is there,the fridge is big there are 2 bathrooms which is easy one with shower one with bath there is a good Bose music installation with plenty of CD's the weather was outstanding so we could sit outside to enjoy our drinks you can easily visit most places in the Lake District from the lodge we truly recommend this lodge Ludo and Christine from Belgium'

'Fantastic location & views. Very basic which let it down. Not great when you travelled 4hrs on the road & not find any milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Lovely shower but all the mould let it down (even the fake plant was covered in mould). Tiny bath towels and no blind on window,Hole in fence has not been fixed but some broken chairs put in front which didn't take my dogs long to figure out & no outside light in garden so i had to use my phone torch to make sure they did not escape at night....

'The place is absolutely stunning and we loved the secret door in particular. The fact there was some basic provisions when we arrived was super. The size of the apartment was much bigger than expected, and the decor, although a bit dated was in keeping with the property. The local village was quaint and we enjoyed a meal and drinks at the local pub one night.'
