'Spotless, grand Victorian home. Just about the most welcoming and helpful host/manager you could hope to meet - there were plenty of suggestions for activities in the area and how to get around. Right on the edge of town, which itself wasn't huge. All sorts of small amenities were on offer.'

'We had a really lovely stay. The food was very nice. There is so much to do at the Woolpack. They have lots of games such as darts and pool. It is incredibly homely. We visited in the winter and we were made very welcome. '

'A clean and newly furbished property managed by a capable and hospitable lady, serving good English breakfast. Our guest room with ensuite is facing the opposite side of the main road, so is quiet. The host also provides each guest a Business Parking Permit for free marking in a nearby council car park, which can also be used in other council car parks of the same council including one in Grasmere.'

'Dit zou een 4-sterrenaccomodatie zijn, en volgens de prijs die we betaalden mocht dat ook wel. De accommodatie is gedateerd, badkamer met jaccuzi is oud, geen mengkraan maar een oude hot/coldkraan die moeilijk te regelen viel. Dunne muren, het leek alsof de gasten uit de aangrenzende kamer in onze badkamer stonden te douchen, om van de ruziënde kinderen nog maar te zwijgen. Extra betalen voor de parking, terwijl alle dagbestedingen verplaatsing met de auto vereisen, is niet fijn. £10 per nacht...
