'Smaakvol ingerichte kamer, badkamer oud en niet schoon. Bed kapot. Jammer, want de kamer is ruim en de mensen heel behulpzaam. Barnard castle is zeker de moeite waard.'

'Very helpful, friendly staff who greeted us when we dropped off our bags, before normal check in time as we were going to a wedding and returning very late. All went very smoothly and a goid breakfast freshly served the next day rounded things off nicely'

'Shocking, even at the price point of £40:00. No matching bedding, toilet ran all Night. The System continued fill with water. The furniture was way passed its sell by date, two of the drawers had NO BOTTOM to them. The pillows were very thin, I have thicker pillow protectors at home. The best thing was it was 4 minutes walk to the train station to get away and back to LONDON. Oh and did I mention the pigeons in the hotel loft space. Sorry to say I would not stay there again.'

'Fijn hotel. Vriendelijke staf, goed eten. 's Avonds hoorden we op onze slaapkamer, die boven de pub ligt, wel wat rumoer vanuit de pub, maar dat vonden we juist wel gezellig. Slechts één winkeltje in het dorp, gedreven voor -- alweer -- erg vriendelijke mensen. Aanrader!'
