'Prachtig oud plantation huis. Oud dus erg gehorig. Mobile is leuk om te bekijken. 1 dag is prima. Verder wat leuke musea. Huis is prachtig. Bed te smal voor twee personen. Bed ligt niet lekker. Heerlijk ontbijt gehad. Speciaal klaargemaakt.'

I witnessed homelessness, most places are closed and dark, on Dauphin street at night there were some places to eat but getting there on foot alone was not an option, there were also cars that been broken into and the stripped car parts were left on the sidewalk. the only food choices are in the hotel and the consisted of the 1 restaurant and coffee shop that all gets a little old.'

'This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights. The only thing I found was that the beds could be a little more comfortable, and there needs to be a trash can in the bathroom area not just in the room where the beds are. This isn’t a deal breaker though. I will definitely be staying here again.

'Ga hier niet heen. Wij zijn s’nachts overvallen in onze kamer door iemand van staff. Eerst werd onze deur bijna ingebeukt, daarna werd hij geopend met een master key. Gelukkig hadden we de dead bolt op onze deur en met 911 is de politie snel ter plaatse. Gebeld met de receptie over het incident, ze gaven aan dat het gebruikelijk was voor de staff om bij onduidelijkheden binnen te dringen. Wij hadden gewoon keurig betaald en ons paspoort laten zien, we vonden het dan ook raar dat er niet gewoon...

'We have stayed in a lot of hotels. This is one of the best over all experiences we ever had. Rooms are spacious, fully equipped and very clean. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Excellent wifi. Breakfast & dinner buffets have a lot of variety & healthy choices. Location is very central to Mobile & Gulf. We felt very much at home!'

Once we arrived in the town our truck started acting up and it was Sunday so there were no mechanics available. 'My only complaint is that if you have a dog where you have to walk dogs a cat colony lives. These cats are fed by neighborhood residents. These cats do not care that you are walking a dog or driving a car. It is their home and you need to deal with it. Thank goodness my German Shepherd is not reactive.'
