'This is a cute and charming place if you like that old fashioned vibe. It had too many decorations for my taste though. The kitchen is very dated and the breakfast was self serve and very basic. Our room was very dusty, but it must be difficult to dust around the many items on display. There are a lot of labels and signs for the rules and regulations which took away from some of the charm.'

'As close to right downtown as can be at this price point. Understood what I was getting into with shared bathrooms, hearing other guests absolutely destroying the toilet while I'm taking a shower, not surprised the laundry card machine and multiple vending machines ate my change; it's whatever, I've stayed in student housing before and have had a great time. This time, however, was completely derailed by finding a bed bug directly before bed halfway through the trip. The front desk staff were...

'What I most like about my stay is the really nice, old-time kind of feeling to the place. It really felt nice with all these chintzy hotels around us. To have a nice, old-fashioned hotel is great. The restaurant was right there, and their food is quite good. The negative comments I made are things like the housework wasn't done as often as I'd like. I did feel the plumbing needed a little bit of attention. But other than that, I really like the room. I like the space and the feel of it.'

'Fantastic stay! Squeaky clean rooms, quiet, close to shopping. Big shout out to the fantastic woman working the bar on the afternoon of June 30th. Our family - about 20 of us - landed there for post wedding/pre reception drinks. She was efficient, friendly and her cocktails were delish! Will def stay here again!'

Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!'
