'Staff were so welcoming! My room allocation was quickly sorted. Breakfast was great! Staff couldn't have done more and I really enjoyed it. I didn't use the bar, but it seemed busy. The bed's mattress was very firm. All linen was beautifully crisp and clean. Fluffy, quality white towels. Shower was easy to use and lovely and hot with no problems. It is a 2 min walk down the hill to the beautiful hamlet or up the very steep hill to the ruins of the old iron ore furnaces. Our room was very comfortable especially the bed, the pool area is lovely with its windows on to the adjacent stream and waterfall, a great variety at breakfast and when we dined in the restaurant one evening, it was the best meal we had the whole trip. Highly recommend for trips to Whitby and the surrounding area. '
