'Lovely country hotel with large garden and free parking. Our room had a comfortable bed,fridge, fan and tv . The bathroom was clean with extra large towels. We ate at restaurant for 3 evenings. Menu had a good choice of meals and food was lovely. Restaurant was very busy so pre booking advised. We had a great breakfast each day with hot and cold selections. Bus stops outside to Whitby and Saltburn which was a bonus. Lovely hotel with wonderful staff and we would definately stay again'

'Our one-night stay was underwhelming from start to finish. Check-in took longer than expected due to the busy pub. Room 4 was tastefully decorated and had a lovely sea view, with Whitby Abbey visible in the distance, but it was a double bed. We paid an additional fee for our two dogs, but nothing was provided for them—no bowls, treats or beds. We always bring our own, but for an extra charge, we expected some kind of gesture. Unfortunately, several things in the room were not up to standard....

'after check-in, which was friendly and quick, we went out for a short walk before diner. the surroundings of the hotel are quiet and friendly. after a long drive very welcome. If we visit the next time the UK, we will go to this hotel again.'
