'The room was very nice, but the stairs leading to the rooms were dirty and poorly lit.'

'Clean room & comfortable bed & pillows. Once upon a time it was a hi-end hotel, but they are revamping it & some of those rooms are updated beautifully. A visitor that we met there Chanylu shared her great experience about the hotel prior to hurricane Maria & even married there a few years ago. Staff was accommodating. Especially Cynthia & Juan. 'The Royal was aesthetically beautiful. Breathtaking. The staff that work service there are very friendly and attentive. However here is why my review is so bad: we had paid extra to have the room decorated for our honeymoon. We arrived and it was beautiful, however we discovered too late that there was no hot water. There were a lot of cockroaches, like the furniture was crawling and families of cats fighting eachother outside the casita for your leftover restaurant food that they instruct you...

'The nearby beaches! We didn’t swim, but got excellent photos and videos with sunset and sunrise. It’s almost 2-hour drive from the SJ airport, we picked it for the expected quiet and beautiful environment, and we got that. The unit is very spacious, nice and clean, partial ocean view from the balcony. '
