'Pleasant stay. Clean room. A not too loud alarm did disturb our sleep a little but it must have been nothing untoward? - fire regulations said to wait in bedroom until otherwise advised... fortunately no such advice was forthcoming!'

'We stayed for one night as a stopover on the way North and were very happy that we picked this Inn. The room was quite basic but perfectly adequate for our needs and in line with the price point. We had an evening meal in the bar area which was very good with generous portions and we were served by a lovely young lady who was very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was nothing short of excellent with good quality ingredients, perfectly prepared.'

'Smaakvol ingerichte kamer, badkamer oud en niet schoon. Bed kapot. Jammer, want de kamer is ruim en de mensen heel behulpzaam. Barnard castle is zeker de moeite waard.'

'It s not 4,5 stars the staf is friendly but the hotel is old. Also the rooms look old. The bed was great but you must shower in the bath. It is a old building and that is what you see in the maintenance'

'What a beautiful inn. It’s quiet and the staff are all very friendly. I stayed there one night and chose it because of its proximity to Kynren. It was about a 15 minute drive from their car park. So convenient! Especially when you’re getting out of the show at 11 o’clock at night. Their breakfast in the morning had lots of options, both hot and cold. I wish I could’ve stayed longer in the area.'
