'Had to ask for housekeeping to clean the room. The pool area was never monitored, as small kids vomited in the hot tub. As well the hot tub jets were out of service on 2 different occasions. Service at the restaurant was not the greatest. For the most part, my week went well, but this was a lot of issues for a 5 night stay.'

'The staff were friendly and helpful. The property was clean and well maintained.
I wasn’t expecting a kitchen in the room, but it proved to be very convenient.
The only thing that I was disappointed in, was there wasn’t a charging station for my EV Hybrid vehicle.'

Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!'

'Breakfast at little Sparo was fabulous
Room was terrible, very depressing, not sure why we had a handicap room, asked for harbour view, even though we booked 3 months in advance , & gave us parking lot view! Staff was just ok, not too helpful regarding any enquires we had about the area. Wouldn’t stay at Doubletree again!'

Disliked: room fan/ac/ heat was impossibly loud making it difficult to sleep- hear the tv or even carry on a conversation. (Room 406) -1 for that issue. Desk staff were unhelpful and not typical of my previous NL experiences. Over a 4 night stay, we engaged at check in/out and 3 questions - they couldn’t care less and were of no help.'

'A unique, and uniquely warm motel that is really not comparable to any other properties. The couple that owns the motel are the main highlight: you will struggle to find more gracious, hospitable, friendly and helpful hosts anywhere in Newfoundland. The facilities are lovely and very distinct. The meals we had were excellent, including their very special (and very abundant) Jiggs Dinner which they offer every Sunday starting around noon, in the motel's main dining facility. Everyone is relaxed...
